I know there is a flu bug going around, we all got it. This just isn't the same. Both me and the dog on a new rememdy for treating cancer and both fell ill. Her worse than me. I am still sick, but not throwing up now. This was a healthy dog for 14 years to suddenly fall deathly ill after treating with flaxseed oil and cottage cheese. Who else can I blame?
I gave it to her.

I am just sitting here waiting for the call from the vet after their ultrasound. I still feel this incredible warmth around me from all of you. hugs

Nohope,

Try not to beat yourself up. I did the same thing; wracked my brain trying to figure out what I or my husband had done, if anything, to cause our dog to get cancer. And we had done nothing. It was just something that happened and happened fast. One day he was well and the next he wasn't. My heart goes out to you and I hope this can get resolved.

I still feel you all here around us. The vet called following the ultrasound and cannot find any other abnormalities. No masses, nothing out of the ordinary. They said she perked up when they put her back in her cage as if she was wondering what everyone was going to do next. Her condition is still critical and she will have to go back to the ER tonight. I asked if I could come and pay her a visit and they really kind of discouraged it. Said at times the animal will worsen with depression when the owner leaves
.

I will let you all know how she is when I transport her back to the ER.

Hugs

Update: No more phone calls today from the vet! phew! Nina actually walked out half way to my truck before they had to carry her from exhaustion. They were using a sling to asist her. Her tummy is bare! Reminds me of my lab when he was a baby. The ultrasound even said her kidneys were unremarkable for a patient of this age! I wish I could tell her this and she would understand. This is day 4 and she hasn't eaten anything since saturday morning, the flaxseed and cottage chz mix. The vet still believes the flaxseed was just too fatty for her digestive system. I transported her back to the ER tonight. A lady in front of me carried a rolled up piece of rug and was sobbing. When she had gone, of course I had to inquire, they said she was pet sitting for her neighbors and their 14 year old Lab chose that time to die. I still went to the back with Nina and gave her tons of smooches and "how proud I am of You" to her. My little girls kissed her goodnight too. I think the ER has taken a little compassion to my youngens as everytime were in they bring out this black french bulldog named Bob. He reminds me of a gremlin. So cute!
Nina's breathing was very labored when we left and they said that was due to the excertion she mustered just to lie down in her kennel.

I felt good when I left. Her head was up many times to see what all the fuss was about.

Just wanted to update everyone who has tuned in..................

Hi Pansy, I take it my last posting didn't go through? I just wanted to thank you SO MUCH for all the research you did for us. As of today, she has again regressed and in so much pain. I got sick again Tuesday night. Our regular vet is now back from Mexico and he agrees with you that this probably has nothing to do with the flaxseed and cottage cheese mix. Regardless, I still feel positively awful for my baby. Her tummy is so sore and she just cries. They have her on so many pain meds now that she will almost be in a sedative way when I transport her back to the ER. He is tweeking the antibiotics a little to see if we can see any improvement. I am just so upset that all I can do is sit here and do nothing. Today is day 6, she hasn't eaten a thing. Thank you for asking.
