This is totally amazing!

and I suppose it could be a fake....if you read the comments, you get that impression
pretty quickly....

It is still fun to watch however.

Well, from the places I read it's supposed to be true. I just hope that they are treated well.

I saw a special on Animal Planet once of an elephant, I believe, here in the US that does paintings but isn't trained to. The lady sells the artwork I believe. I'll have to see if I can find that. Oops, it was her dogs.

Here's an interesting site.

Thank you so much Mrsd for the elephant link, and Doodie for the painting dogs.

I don't know if those elephants are a hoax or not, because I really don't care.

It was as you said ....."truly amazing". I loved the clip so much!
.

Thanks again. I enjoyed all of the links.

Apparently the elephants are trained step by step to paint that specific picture: snopes.com/photos/animals/elephantpainting.asp

Still cool though!

Thanks, Jason.. I was wondering if there was a faint pencil line on the paper that didn't show up. YOu know on some TV programs, that are teaching children and adults to draw and paint...they have faint pencil lines that only the artist can see...so it looks like he/she is drawing everything from scratch, but they are really following a faint trail.

I thought it was a stretch that the elephant had a visual image in its mind so exact as to show forshortened legs. That is pretty sophisticated mental cognitive ability. But I could see an elephant tracing a picture!

In any event, it is still very fascinating!
