The little guy is looking good. That mass has really shrunk. Or, has he just gotten bigger?
.
Such a handsome boy. I wonder when they'll get around to the surgery.

I sure miss watching the action of the eagle cam.

Well I was looking at all the link hoping for new news. Guess I'll say to myself that no news is good news maybe! It would be nice if they could hide a camcorder or someone take a short video and do youtube as someone suggested.

Go echinacea! You can tell he is growing. I had not checked the links you gave today at all, been so busy. Wish I had a laptop and a lot of money to pay for time on computer so I could keep up easier.

Wow they do have a lot of other birds and probably critters to take care of. It is interesting to read about them all. Thanks.

Default Surgery for the eaglet

The little eaglet had surgery today to remove the remnants of the pox from it's beak. Even thought the main part of the mass had fallen off, doctors ground the rest of it off as well as worked to align his beak with the help of some acrylic!
.

He also has a "brace" against the side of his beak to help keep it aligned with the lower beak. Little POINK looks so cute with braces! LOL

The poor eaglet is bleeding too much!

This will be my last opportunity to check on him for a while.
I sure hope he rallies and heals.

Well, since we just got to see Mrs. D post...I thought it appropriate we should bump this back up and check on our (little???
.
) eagle guy. He was determined to be a male for sure and is now living in a big cage. He's hopping from limb to limb and starting to try out his wings.

He's still having surgeries on his beak though. They are using a dremmel saw to try and fix his beak.

I was excited to see he was a male also. I keep checking hoping to see they have declared him perfectly fine but no luck there. At least he is still alive and thriving well enough.
