Lightbulb updates:

I found these this morning:

.

.

We had several eagle sightings on vacation. One day there was a group of juveniles containing 8 eagles hovering over our bay.
I got some pics, which I will put up here later today. (they are extreme zoom shots and not spectacular).

After about 15 minutes of this soaring group, our resident adult pair took off to see what was going on! They appeared very concerned.

We saw the eagles with 2 juveniles fishing almost every day.
When the seagulls returned from their nesting area, two specific gulls drove the eagles out of our area pretty much every day. They dove and swooped on them, to make them move elsewhere. Our water bird and duck population ended up very small this season. The predation by the eagles was intense and I observed one duck being attacked in the early morning (her chicks were orphaned). I have pictures of those orphans on another thread here. Our loons however, appear unaffected. I have read that loons do get attacked by eagles as well (when they are younger and smaller), but our nesting pair seemed to be safe. They do dive for much longer periods than the mergansers, so maybe they escape that way?

And welcome back ((Mrs. D)) you were missed.

The updates sound great. I'm glad that lesion is healing so well.
