Hi friends~ In a few wks, we will be flying to NC and taking our younger Doxie w/us. I already made her reservation w/the airline, as they have a limit of 3 pets per flight. She has to go w/us, as I don't have anyone to keep her and just can't kennel her.
My question is~ they have told me to get a carrier that is no more than 62" linear, 8 1/2" ht ~ 12" width ~ 17" depth. Anyone know of a good place to get a carrier? We have a few hrs layover on the way back, so I will also have to medicate her. The airline told me to give her Benedryll and the Vet says they have tranquillizers. What would you do? This doxie is like a baby to us. *the older one cannot make the flight due to health probs, so is staying w/DS, as she sleeps all day and won't get him booted out of his apmt. The younger does not do well when separated from us... such a weenie ( ha ~funny, she is a weenie dog!!)* I'd really like your opinions on this or if anyone has traveled via airlines w/a pet.. .
