While I'm currently pet-less? I do keep an eye out on the key things about our beasts that need to be watched. This one IS from the source and not rife with rumors.
. Hope this helps you all avoid issues in the near and long term future! Scritches to your 'kids'! - j |

Thanks ((Dahlek)) I hadn't heard about this. None of the foods are on the list I see there, thank goodness.
Hope everyone else's furbabies are safe from this. Geesh already!

Sounds like they 'got' this one pretty early tho.
I've been sending food to a friends' pets from here: . During the last food round of issues, their stuff was as safe as can be? They test it out and critters seem to thrive on it. Sometimes, for those who are on disability etc...we tend to try and cut corners... but, quality critter groceries can save big bucks over the long term.. Of lately tho, the safety issue as well-- in combo with quality can be one very BIG peace of mind factor we never had to anticipate even a couple of years ago... I mean, it's hard enuf to take care of ourselves, let alone our critter-kids! Hugs to all and PLEASE? Scritch your critters in their favorite places for me? And soon! - j |

We use Pedigree almost exclusiely with our old dog. I will have to go back and check the list very closely soon. I gave up last night and gave him part of my rib eye. Sure I know that was stupid but he does not like most treats at all. I expect him will try to reject everything now for some time.

Thanks for posting Dahlek.
I hadn't heard about this one. Last time, I heard before the news broke because a local breeder lost a bunch of puppies. They were under investigation, because it looked like they were doing something to harm the puppies if that many of them died that close together. Turned out it was the Diamond dog food. . I've been feeding nothing but Kibbles and Bits since. And you know what else is bugging me? Look at people food labels. A lot of them, they don't even say what country the food is made in, just who distributes it. Didn't there used to be a law about that? Even OTC meds are doing that. I won't buy stuff like that.

[QUOTE=braingonebad;370114]Thanks for posting Dahlek.

They were under investigation, because it looked like they were doing something to harm the puppies if that many of them died that close together. Turned out it was the Diamond dog food. . I've been feeding nothing but Kibbles and Bits since. I was furious when I saw this again. We lost a Parson Russel mix to the tainted dog food. Now I have to worry about my cat. He will only eat dry kibble. No tuna, salmon, chicken, designer moist cat food...........just kibble. He was eating junk cat food when I got him and gradually got him switched over to the good stuff but the price you pay doesn't garuntee that the food hasn't been "fortified" with poisonous fillers. If the people who are in charge of milk and formula production are not concerned about the well being of the Chinese children, we can't possibly think they are concerned about our pets. The world seems to be getting crazier all the time. |
