Growing up, my family bred, raised and sold standards. Although they are just about everything that the anti wienies say, I adore them. They are bull headed and manipulative. They can be very vididctive but we never had one that was destructive.

We had one little girl who had to be put in a luxury wire kennel when we left the house as she would unmake every bed in the house and if a closet door was cracked, she would get in the closet and haul every last pair of shoes under the bed. Nothing was chewed or destroyed but she had a ball protesting the fact that her humans had left her alone with other............dogs. Oh yes, every roll of toilett tissue was unrolled and strewn throughout the house.

They are not alone in their intelligence and propencity for protest. My young cat has discovered how to open all of the doors in the apartment now. First it was the front door but I now keep it locked at all times. Being a handicapped building, the doors have handles instead of knobs. It is much easier for those with arthritic hands. Easier for the critters too. He decided that if he could open an onlocked front door the bath and bedroom must be easier and they are. All he must do is leap up and bat the handle correctly and the door pops open. He does it on the first try and is so proud now. Since neutering and his hormone levels have dropped, he has stopped spraying the tub and the stereo but it will take time to rebuild trust on my part.

Often, the little beast will pop the doors open and then come back in the living room where he befongs. He just needs to demonstrate that he could get in the forbidden rooms if he chose to. Such a naughty lad. I am giving him a few drops of Rescue in his evening water so he doesn't feel obligated to climb up on top of the refrig. at night and swan dive down on top of me. I think we will make it.

If you looked at some of the pictures of the folks that went to the weinie races, you may have noticed Jeau (the one with the crazy fur on top of the head, lol).

Well, Jeau lives with Telly, a most beautiful weiner who also was rescued by HUA. Telly's tale was so sad as he was paralyzed from the waist down when they rescued him. Anyway, a lovely family adopted him who have lots of other weinies including Telly.

Thought you might enjoy seeing Telly's wonderful new home and him having great fun.

I am not surprised to read that you are having "potty problems". These weinies can be real creatures of habit..........good and bad. The bedtime ritual is a good case in point. Good grief. They are tunnelers by nature. If they need one and can't find one...........they make one.

I am certain that you have tried everything. Are you at home so you can put her on a schedule like a pup and then just gush all over her when she happens to get it right? Does she exhibit any other behaviors that are a result of the mill? Does your vet treat with any homeopathic preperations?

I bet there is an answer out there somewhere. Bless you for hanging in there with her. Sweet dreams.

I have followed Tellys story for a while now. I love the way he just falls asleep in his cart, when he is tired. He is an amazing dog, and so is his Fur mom. It takes a special person to take on special needs dogs.

Telly is an amazing baby and those people who adopted him well...bless their hearts for sure. Oh and she used to have a web site with lots of videos on it, I don't know what happened to that. Yes, it's cute when he goes part way into his cage and goes to sleep with his tush outside in his handicapped cart!
