Doody, when my daughter's chi-poo was recovering and really needed vitamins the only way I could get them down her was by mixing them with coconut oil or butter. It has to be the good grade of raw organic though. It is also very good for their health. I give Kalani raw organic coconut oil nearly everyday and when she had her surgery I applied it to the incision as well.

Hopefully Otto will make some more progress (((hugs)))

For anyone interested, Otto is now taking Lixotinic by Pfeizer. There are a lot of links to it on the web. Here is one.

Otto had another recheck today. My son-in-law told them he was disheartened with Otto's lack of progress. The doctor said he thought as well that Otto would have some use of his hind quarters by now. But he told Ross to not give up hope because they have seen doxies start walking up to 6 months after the surgery.

He said after 6 months, though, they aren't hopeful for a recovery.

They measured Otto for a cart. They said he needs to have one now for quality of life. Poor little guy. Daughter is ordering one tonight from these guys.
.
Someday when they can afford it (LOL when will THAT be!), they'd like to get one from Eddie's wheels.

I'm still hopeful that Otto will get better! Here is an inspirational story from a friend that has several special needs low riders.

Oh that's awesome Dottie, thank you!

Well, I haven't reported on the slowly developing events. Saw it for myself yesterday when visiting the kids.

What Otto does happens so quickly your jaw just drops and you hold your breath. Daughter and son-in-law get on opposite sides of the room and call Otto. He stars to run and you can see him occasionally sharply lift a leg and place weight on it when running!

I don't now how to explain it but, knock on wood, we are seeing things that we just hold our breath at the surprise! *hopeful*

That sounds like good news to me!

It's a start for Otto and we all wait with bated breath, waiting to hear that he walked across the room.
