We don't have alligators in Australia. It's believed this one was brought in illegally as a tiny wee thing and it's grown too big for the people to deal with at home,
. so they've released it into the wild. How weird is that. Why would people bring in a creature like that and expect to keep it at home? The mind boggles. Camp ground alligator 'probably a pet' . . Quote:

I actually saw an interview with the captors on the tellie earlier and the guy basically said that all the people just did what they'd seen Steve Irwin do on tv and one man jumped on his/her back and the others helped secure the alligator and then another tied the snout. Aw, that poor baby! yes and why in the world would folks think it was cool to get one as a baby and keep it.
