The first hatching expected at Norfolk is Mar 20th. That is for the first egg.
And Blackwater has some YouTubes posted for 2009 now, that are interesting. In one the male tries to remove some old food and the female disagrees and they have a tug of war about it! . the tug of war for food: .

They said any day now we should be proud mamas of little eaglettes.
. I was watching it yesterday and I think I saw a hole in the top of one. I don't ever remember these eggs being so big before . |

I LOVE that avatar!
Yep, we will have babies very soon! This is the best part of the nesting for me. I love to watch them when they are tiny! The little ones at Blackwater already have pin feathers coming in!

Looks like they are shrouded in fog this morning! And there's the momma, sitting so patiently on her babies.

She's (or he) is sitting up high. Hopefully today will be the day.
. The Hancock Wildlife Channel has pics and there's definitely a hole in one. Who's got cigars when we all become proud new parents? . |

Something might happen soon. He/she is laying in the next with the wings spread out. Maybe trying to protect an eaglette from the sun?

The last hatch...last year, we couldn't see the chick of over a day. This season, it looks like the camera angle is better. The chicks can't raise their neck for at least a day, so often you cannot see them. If she (and the male) sit around looking at the eggs alot, that is a sure sign. And the chick does call to them from the egg, so the parents know it is trying to get out. I hope it stays calm and not windy...that cam freezes when it is windy.

They were sure looking around a lot yesterday but as far as I know no eaglettes yet. Poor mama sat there in the freezing rain yesterday keeping the eggs dry
