Default sorry for your loss

Aw...I am a pet person in a huge way..and I spoil my 3 chihuahua's daily ...they give us such love in return.

I believe that our pets NEVER leave us and your Calypso will let you know that you are being visited. So watch out for kitty signs!

Doody, thanks for asking. I am doing better. I had my sweet Alissa for the weekend so that helped some.

If one more person says IT WAS ONLY A CAT!!!!! I will rip their head off!!!! To me ,he was part of my family, sigh......some people just don't get it!

Thank you for thinking about me and for "getting it"

Dottie

oh gosh. I'm so sorry.
.

I totally understand your grief. Some people just don't understand.
When I lost my little Persian it really took me months to recover. Whenever I thought of her or found her fur in the vaccum or something I sobbed openly all the time and felt so empty.
.
so sorry Dottie. I feel badly that I'd not read your message until today.

Default Dottie? I understand....

Yes! Our creatures never really leave us? I see my window drapes move as if one of my past cats was there, but I know they aren't .....sigh..
Now, THREE years after losing my last cat to cancer, I am STILL finding and picking up cat hairs! I'm amazed and at the same time pleased? Doesn't mean I am a poor housekeeper, it just means that they've left memories for me to recall. They appear magically and I'll just leave it at that - they are watching me from afar.
Hope this helps you find some peace. Hugs and hope always! - j

Only a cat? How cruel!

I took a day off work on bereavement leave when our German Shepherd passed away. My employer knew the reason I was taking leave, and he still paid me.

I had lost a member of my family. Why would he not?

Oh (((Dottie))), we all understand and care very much. Like the others, I've grieved too many times, some more than other pets, but some hurt so bad I couldn't go to work either. Sobbed as if my world had come to an end.

People who say things like that, well...I think they just haven't achieved some level of higher consciousness.

WE know how precious these furbabies are!

I guess I have avoided this post because it hits home too hard, I lost a 11 month old that was my baby from 4 wks old and he was hit by a truck that was flying and never bothered to even stop and say he was sorry, so my dh against my wishes took him out front and he was in my yard next to mailbox when struck down by that monster and I screamed as though it was my child dying in my arms, I must have screamed for hours and Dh felt so guilty he went to where the man lived and threatened to shoot off the top off his truck and of course police were called and when they heard what the man did they told him to avoid our rd forever (he had an alternate rt) but I am still to this day if I see his picture will cry! Then if that was not enough a year ago on Christmas day my Dh's beloved dog we had for 11 years died in his arms and that cold hearted man cried like a baby for hours along with the rest of the family! We love our dogs as though they are our kids, 3 of them sleep with me ( good thing they are all under 14 lbs) so we know how terrible you feel and our heart is still broken after all this time. I feel no shame what so ever in the way I treat and love my babies! Some people can't do it but the only way I could be consoled was to get another like him except I got a female since I learned she would stick with me rather then want to hang out with Dh, and after that a doggy door was installed and a fence put in my back yard and my fur kids don't go anywhere without me! I am so sorry, no words will ever make the pain go away but time does help!
