I'm so sorry, been very preoccupied and busy. Plus my daughter, g-doody, and Otto spent the weekend with me and my brood so haven't gotten on the puter.
Chewie went in Friday for a check. They were pleased with how he looked but concerned about the food. They also wondered if his sore throat from the tubes might be affecting his ability to eat. I told them that I caught him chewing and clawing at his dry food bag so I hid it. They mulled that one over for some time and the doc said to go ahead and let Chewie have his regular food in very tiny doses. Chewie likes that but eats tiny amounts at a time. I don't even have to regulate it, though I do. PLUS I haven't found any vomit on the floor the past couple of days, so I think that is good. His tummy looks great. Has lots and lots of staples in it! But he doesn't seem to notice at all. The doc told me when they did the surgery, he had to cut away a LOT of fat before he could even get to his intestines. :o Today he is out from hiding. (He always hides when people show up and then Otto barks a lot.) My sweeties have gone back home and now Chewie is out from under the bed, rubbing my legs and purring. He just seems very alert, so I'm very happy about it. Still very optimistic. |
