A pet has its own category, doesn't it? Not a human, but not a geranium. Not a child, of course, but not livestock. It's hard to watch the light go out.

Sheba did this when she was about 12....the vet could not find anything wrong... So I gave her Pedialyte unflavored in a dosing syringe for babies slowly every 10 minutes. She was practically comatose...but she perked right up and SURVIVED. My husband had to do it when I left for work, that night. I surely thought she'd be dead when I got home... but nope... she rallied on that one!

You might try that, if this is just a temp illness like Sheba had.
We call it the mystery illness!
We also gave her hairball medicine as she perked up. The ending consensus was it was a hairball, but we spent over 300 dollars only to find out it was a mystery!

I had my dear dog Ned cremated, and he is now watching over me from the sideboard. I'm sure some people think its a bit creepy, but I couldn't bury him anywhere and I can take him with me now where ever I go.

((Dottie)) Thanks for posting that. I hadn't really thought a lot about keeping the remains. My daughter has 2 cremated cats now and the vet place did such a lovely job of memorializing them.

((Blessings)) I have an old lady who somehow keeps on moving and I don't know how. She hasn't slept with me for a few nights which is strange. Usually I go to sleep with her right behind my head and usually some time in the night she leaves. When she makes changes in her routine, it concerns me. She's 20. I'm so sorry you're going through this right now.

Wink

I am always surprised by cats.

Here we have this disabled limping old girl... and last night
I got up around 3am and she was off the bed (down her special pet stairs I got for her), and down the main stairs likety-split before I even hit the landing! She can really move when she wants too! At first I thought it was our other black cat. But no... Sheba beat me to the frig. (I needed a boost...some cereal).

Unhappy

Oh, I am so sorry. Losing a dear pet like this is so painful.
.

Each day we look at Sheba thinking this too.
The trip up North is always in my mind, as well.
