Trig there's a special place in hell

i went to work this morning, just like any other. although i used to have sundays off. i start at 7:30am. sundays i work in the dog kennels. right now we're acctually low on dogs,so no big.
the sucky part of today was that at some point in the night some waste of oxygen who masquerades as a human being took 2 adult cats and 5 kittens(neonates, some of them arent even 1/2 pound yet) put them in a cardboard box, duct taped it shut and left it in the middle of our parking lot.
ive worked in shelters before, ive worked at this shelter for a year now and im still amazed by the crap people will pull.

with no room at the inn and fosters in short supply, guess how many new cats i now have in my wifes office.

At least the kitties were dropped off in your parking lot, and not in a river.

I'm sorry for the cats. I'm with you, some people don't deserve to breathe. And you know if they'll treat such tinty helpless kittens like that, they'd do the same to other people - even tiny little ones.

.

I am always remined, when I hear of such cruelty, of Mother Theresa quoting the Bible (and you know I'm not big on religion or the Bible, but this one rings true in my heart) " Jesus said, 'How you receive the least among us, is how you recieve me.' "

I try to treat all living things with the same dignity and respect that I would ask for myself or any one I love, because we we all created, after all, by the same almighty power. None of us - kitten or sparrow - is less a miracle or less loved by God.

It really annoys me when people don't think ahead enough to get their animals neutered, find out they can't take care of six cats, and then dump them somewhere.

If you're a no-kill shelter, you need to keep your location secret. That's the only way to prevent dumping and its results--being so overloaded that you can't take care of the animals you have.

If you're a kill shelter... I'm sorry. I really am. There's nothing anybody can do, but at least the ones that are least likely to be adopted won't die painfully.

I KNOW there is a special place in hell for animal abusers! There just has to be! I read in the news this week, about some wild, canadian horses that were shot, one was a mare, ready to give birth in a couple of days, she was shot and killed, then went into labor, but they all died. So very, very cruel, just makes me cry to hear about such awful things. How can anyone be like that, and still be considered a human being?I hope the cats all get good, loving homes. And thanks for doing such a good job, helping animals the way you do!

There is no sense in doing any animal that way. One of dogs is a castaway, and she was pregnant (we didn't know it at the time). We love her and we keep one of the puppies. Our third dog, someone gave us because they were tired of her and keep her in a dog pen. (She is a miniature dachshund). Needless to say we share our bed with two of three. The momma dog prefers to sleep in the other bedroom where she has more bed to herself. We, also, have a horse nobody wanted and my husband said somebody had to take care of it. Then there is the litter of kittens a stray cat had in the trailer park. Our trailer park seems to be the drop off for strays. Everybody keeps them fed and my husband's cousin has program where you can have a dog or cat spaded or neutered for a small fee. We dare anybody to hurt any of the strays dropped off here. We take care of them and love them.

Default update

all but one has found a home. ozzy is the only one left. mommy and the kitten went fairly quick.but oz was delayed getting on the spay/neuter schedule and then wouldnt leave his incision alone so it got infected. now hes in the sick room because he was exposed to another group of fosters with a uri.
