Default Lyrica?

My doc is considering trying Lyrica for my PN although I am not Diabetic. Anyone out there try it?

have gone to 450 mg many are higher 600mg. Take it very very slow as I have a feeling a lot drop off it as initial dose may be to high. yucky side effects but most serious meds do so no escaping that.

I agree. Dosages are often "standardized" without regard to individual patients' sensitivities/response. Discuss with your doctor the possibility of starting out on a much lower dose - maybe even "as needed" (if your pain is not constant) - and titrating upward until you reach an acceptable balance of relief vs. side effects.

im on lyrica right now, 150mg twice a day... i dont have pain as often i can say that but i still need a narcotic for intense break thru pain.
My advice, if you do take lyrica DO NOT drink with it... ive had to pretty much quit drinking because it makes me like narcoleptic lol i fell asleep while eating, talking, walking to my door... alcohol and lyrica are a bad combination but it does lessen the frequency of the pain or at least it did for me.

Severe TBI with 3 bleeds, broken neck (C-2), comatose for 3 days Glasgow score of 6 from a school bus t-boning my door at 60mph in December of 2004. Extraction time took over an hour, over a week just in ICU, original expectation was permanent vegetative state.
Numerous re-injuries including being rear-ended, flipping suv, and the latest in 2011 from being slammed head first on tile floor.
Still having major issues with: anxiety, depression, memory short and long term, sleeping including insomnia and hypersomnia, severe headaches 10-15 days a month, severe neck tension and pain that can be easily agitated, comprehension, problems focusing, easily distracted, irritability, skewed judgement, constantly overwhelmed, mood swings, confusion, brain fog etc etc
