This is a really interesting link. It explains many things about the complex testing for DNA mutations:
http://geneticgenie.org/methylation-analysis-example/ This particular link is not for everyone, but the explanations are good and would help anyone understand their own results.

Thanks. Very interesting. After looking at this, it appears that this should be something everyone could benefit from. Have you done 23&me?

No not yet.
I have thought about it though. I never really became low in nutrients or B12. So I don't think I have major issues. My problems seem to be lupus and arthritis oriented. But I might still have it done. I am more interested in the Cytochrome-450 DNA testing...as I think I am a slow metabolizer. I just cannot handle drugs well. I end up taking very small doses. 25mg of Tramadol lasts me over 24 hrs. And I cannot tolerate more than one Flexeril a day!

Yeah, I think the detox pathway would be helpful. IF you find out that you're a slow metabolizer, do you think doctors would prescribe medicine differently. In other words, do they know what to do with that kind of knowledge?

I really don't think many use the DNA tests, except for some
advanced oncology centers, to tailor their chemo treatments better. My doctor just gives me my small RX quantities which can last me months, at the rate I need them or take them. I think she is relieved that I don't use them like other people! This is why I prefer topical application of patches and gels/creams for my PN... they seem to work better. And best of all is the magnesium lotion! What a wonderful thing that is...simple and very effective for me and many others!
