Default PTSD and HPa axis

Does anyone have information on the biological reasons behind PTSD? I have read that chronic cortisol messes up the serotonin regulation, which interferes with the HPa axis in the brain.

Any comments?

PTSD is the result of trauma (war, abuse, life threatening events, ect).

PTSD can cause changes to the brain, processing, flight/fight/freeze response, thoughts and feelings.
