Default Hello ... new to the PTSD forum

Hello:

I'm new to NeuroTalk in general and this is my first post here in the PTSD forum.

I have been diagnosed with C/C PTSD ... also dx with severe Major Depression Disorder and DID/Polyfragmented ( FYI ... the DID does leave me with a problem of occasionally confusing pronouns so please bear with me as I still will refer to myself as "We/Us/Ourself, etc .... promise, no alters will jump in and post ... really the DID just compounds the dissociative aspects of the PTSD ). The primary cause of my mental health issues is a result of severe and prolonged Childhood Sexual Abuse/Incest. I'm certain that many of you here are well aware of what all that involves and share in similar histories and life experiences.

Currently we're going through a very difficult time and struggling with the various symptoms associated with the PTSD ( flashbacks & nightmares, panic/anxiety ... increased dissociative episodes and lost time, etc ). For a variety of reasons our symptoms have increased and I've regressed in many areas because of a host of life stressors, illness, etc.

Right now the flashbacks/nightmares and panic are just out of control and I'd really be interested in hearing from anyone who may have suggestions or could relate some of your ways for managing and coping strategies to try and alleviate or decrease the occurrences of my symptoms. I'm on meds for the the depression and anxiety but, as I'm sure you're all aware there isn't a pill out there that can diminish or stop the flashbacks and nightmares.

I'm really looking forward to hearing from the members here and sharing information.

Hoping you're all managing well and wishing everyone peace, comfort and resolutions to all that you struggle with: Kefrin ( and Bailey the wonder dog, my SD as well ).

Smile Hi Kefrin

Welcome to Neurotalk. Cute dog. The Bipolar forum is more active. Your welcome to join in there. There are people who talk on there daily.

I'll sometimes go to the other posts, and forums, and then go to the Bipolar forum which is very popular.

I have a combination of allot of these mental health issues. I have the Phobias,OCD,anxiety to the point where the top of my chest tightens up,and hurts. Then this anxiety pain goes through me to my back, then rises up to the heart area, and then ends up under my left arm pit. Resently, it's been a bit better.

Sometimes I feal like a electric shock is going through me. I have all kinds of anxieties around people. I was sort of Bullied around at a job where I worked for 14 years. That job sort of changed me.

Welcome to Neurotalk. Like I said, come to the Bipolar forum, and you will get allot of support, and help. People don't seem to talk on these other forums very much.

It's OK if you want to stay here though. Maybe there will be more people to talk to this time. Brokenfriend

Hello and thanks for the welcome Brokenfriend! We just might have a peek in the Bipolar forum and check out the conversation there, thanks for the tip about where things are a little more active, we do appreciate the invite. Sorry to hear that you share in many of the similar struggles ... we know it can be extremely frustrating and just makes coping with everything that much more difficult ... we're hoping you're managing well this evening, wishing you peace & comfort.

Take care: Kefrin
