Default Happy Holidays?

I do hope that you are all having a good start to the holiday season. For us, the holidays are not always that great. My husband spent Thanksgiving in our room watching TV. We finally decided, after all these years, that he does not HAVE to spend the holidays like everyone expects him to. This has led to a much more peaceful time for him, even if melencholly. We just recently moved away from all our family, which gives us a good excuse for not attending large, loud parties (lots of people, lots of crowd noise, lots of anxiety). The kids and I are free to do whatever we like to make the holidays fun and festive and he is free to join us, or to find a quiet, safe place to be. We really enjoy the more peaceful holiday and my husband is not pressured to perform.

May you all find a quiet place to retreat to when the holidays get too noisy!

Just don't spend too many holidays indoors; it will make you big time depressed
