When life explodes

Sorry I haven't been around much, life is smacking me down in multiple ways lately.

The mold saga in the new place continues and it's too huge to describe here. One example would be that after being told that I'd need to stay away for about 4 hours by 8:00am on Thursday, at 7:55am Thursday, the mold guy arrived and informed me that I had to vacate for at least 24 hours.

I allowed that allotted time to pass and returned to discover the remains of the kitchen in a heap at the front door with a note that reads, "Do not enter for any raeson" [SIC]

In the meantime, my hard drive crapped out taking with it the contents of my entire life. Fortunately, it was replaced for free by way of a responsible company that knew about the possibility and took responsibility for it. Now I have the decision to make of whether my lost data is worthy of an expensive retrieval. Oy!

So, my mood is in the proverbial toilet but I'm doing my best to stay calm and thankful knowing that it could just be so much worse. My lawyer will be amused to know that the hotel bill just went up a whole bunch.

I find it very surprising that you don't do a regular back up. Didn't you teach me that lesson?

I would suggest going to the local apple store and getting a Time Capsule right away... and maybe a new macbook. :)

Wow. Sounds like life isn't you very fairly right now.

Not the "happily ever after" story I was hoping to hear. :(

I'll put you on my prayer list. Oh wait. You're already there.

Uggghh the mold problem sounds horrible.

Did the h drive totally stop working -physically ?
or is the system/data on it messed up?

If it is the system/software there are recovery programs that are pretty easy to use.

But maybe you know about those already.

but your post is a good reminder to me to do a back up - :grouphug:

Sorry you are going through such a rough time. Mold:eek:! Hope your hotel has free internet service.

Wow, it sucks to be you right now, huh?

Will you be able to live there, in peace and quiet, anytime soon?

:smileypray: ((((Cindy)))) :smileypray:

I hope they make it right for you, Cindy. Mold is nothing to play around with. That stuff can come to life! Make triple sure they have taken care of the problem before you set one foot back in that apartment. I'm glad you have a lawyer. ;)

Sorry, Cin. :( Just when things ought to be fun and exciting after a move. Pfffft.

I'm glad you didn't stick around in your new digs long enough to get some funky mold-induced complication, though.

Keep yer chin up, woman. Its GOT to get better!!!
