More trouble

I have had two mollars break off at the gum line this morning. Dang. Medicaid does not cover root cannals so this means they will need to be surgically removed. My primary dentist won't attempt an extraction with a large breakage at the gumline.. I understand that. The timing stinks. So far, no pain. All of my teeth with fillings are crumbling. I have had two mollars just loosen up like a baby tooth and fall out. They didn't even have fillings or a sign of decay. I took the teeth to the dentist and he said I was correct. There was no decay. This is all due to years of meds and osteoporosis. What next? The last oral surgery triggered a major Fibro flair that lasted weeks. I have the implant coming up. This just stinks.

I had discussed this with the dentist about a year ago and we talked about having my teeth all extracted after the next breakage and going with dentures. Medicaid will pay for extractions. My saint of a brother will get me the dentures when I break down and tell him what is happening. What about the implant? I am sooooo confused and angry. Bah Humbug.

Well, what a huge bummer, Spine!! I'm so sorry this happened to you, especially right now. You're right--the timing really does stink! I'm sure that the stress of all this is certainly not helping with the Fibro, either. Hang in there, my friend....wish there was some way I could help. The best I can do right now is to send you lots of cyber hugs and prayers....so that's what I'm gonna do.

Mega Hugs and Many Prayers,
Jan :circlelove::grouphug:

Double Ouch Spine!

Two breaks?!? Dear Spine, I, too am praying for you. I know the complication of dental work within weeks before implant surgery. Oh how hard this has to be for you.

Praying,
Mark56:hug:zzzzzz

i hate to sound so negative but that kind of oral surgery could lay me up for weeks due to a huge Fibro flare. I have been down this road too many times and know the drill. Deep sigh.

I'm so sorry to hear about your molars. What horrible timing. I hope it doesn't delay your implant. I don't remember when your implant is scheduled for. Can the molars wait to be extracted? It's terrible to have health issues that affect other procedures. Prayers for guidance and comfort.

I'm sorry Spine to hear of you latest misfortune. It's not nice when your molars crumble. I too have the same problem on both sides of my mouth. So far I haven't done anything about them as they are not covered on my insurance. My dentist said I would need each tooth, 4 in total, crowned. At a cost of €900 ($1300) EACH. Which of course I can't afford at the minute. So I pray you can still go ahead with your implant and maybe try to address your dental work afterwards if you can wait that long.

Take care

Jackie

The teeth have to come out, sad to say. I can't afford crowns. Medicaid wll pay for the oral surgery in it's entirety but not crowns. Given the nature of my oral problems, the crowns don't hold up any how. I felt so bad for a neighbor who has the same problem and her kids insisted on paying for having her mouth totally redone. Her dentist advised against it and said she needed to have what was left pulled and let the kids buy her a deluxe set of dentures. The kids took her to their dentist, who I don't care for, and he supported them. Why not? They are neighbors. Anyhow, the bottom line is she had THEIR work done and was in dentures two years later anyhow.

I am not far into the process of getting the scs. I had the trial which was an unbelievable success. I have the psych. eval next week and will then get an appt. to see the neurosurgeon. I am leaning towards getting the implant done first as I am finding it harder to cope with the pain and just want to get it and whatever flare that comes with it over with. I just hope the mouth situation doesn't become painful as that will require immediate attention.

For you, Spine

Hoping and praying the best for you, Spine!! You do not need more pain at all.

Caring for sure,

Leaving for psych eval. shortly. Fingers crossed as I haven't slept for the last two nights due to weather related pain. Boy, am I foggy. There is no point in rescheduling for a better day. Fall is on it's way and I stay this way due to the fluctuating barometrics. I could easily reschedule and end up even more foggy. I want to get this over with.

Pain is off the chart. Yesterday, I couldn't get off the bed to go to the bathroom so I had to scooch to the edge of the bed and slide down. Then I had to crawl to the bathroom as I couldn't stand upright. I hate it when it gets that bad. I can't use pull ups as they break me out, regardless how often I change them. They make me sweat badly which sets me up for fungal infections and UTIs.

Send those prayers up. I hope the fog doesn't give me an inaccurate MMPI. Here we go!!!! ;)

Psych eval went well. Now I am in horiffic pain from sitting in that darn chair for several hours. My back feels like I am dealing with uncontrolled post op pain from big, open surgery. The butt burn is totally out of control. Fibro is starting to climb. Meds aren't touching it and I didn't sleep again last night. Judy will be here today so I will be able to soak. That should help more than anything at this point. I am so blessed to still be carried on the Home Bound waiver program and have that angel in my life. Y'all have a good day and thanks for being there.
