Survey: re Battery Placement side

Hi everyone!

As I'm preparing for my SCS implant surgery, I have a question for you all with, or have had, an SCS implanted in their hip. Which side did you have it placed- more specifically, what determined the placement? See, I am right-handed, so it seems like it'd be easier to adjust on my right side. At the same time, however, I also sleep mainly on my right side... So I don't know which of these things is more important when deciding placement. Considering it's going to be there for a long time (mine's estimated 9 year battery life!) I really don't want to make the wrong decision!

Thanks everyone!!! :grouphug:

Right Side

Right handed, right side, easy to charge, easy to control, and it does not show on my bikini [OH, wait a minute,,,,,,, I don't even wear a bikini!!!! And besides, if I did, people would either die laughing or die on the spot from the horrific sight!!:eek: Not:cool:]

So forget the bikini part.....:o:o:o:o

OK, back to seriousness.... everything else I wrote is spot on. This is the reason I have mine in the right hip, below the common waist line of the articles of clothing I wear. Since you are not a guy, you can make mention of the things you wear and the possible impact of the "waist" so the generator/battery is placed appropriately. Uh huh.

Love, hugs, and prayers for you,

I made the decision to get mine on my left side even though I'm right-handed, because I, like you, sleep more on my right side. But then of course I ended up getting a second one on the right side so it didn't matter :p But I think it's good to take everything into consideration. On the one hand, it's a big decision, but on the other hand, you'll adjust no matter what side you choose.

Colleen so glad you have got a date.....brilliant news :)

I have mine on my left side...Im righthanded also....so I find it much easier to hold the controller over the battery with my left hand and control the controller with my right hand. Plus I much prefer to sleep on my right side (although I mostly sleep on my back) which to me is much more important ;).......

Im sure you will get it right no matter where it goes, at least you are getting it!!!!!........

Same here!

I am a Jackie-copycat! :D
Tho I'm right-handed also, I chose to have my battery on left side for the same reason - so I could use my right hand to operate the battery charger. I stick the charging unit over my battery which is on my left side. (I use my left hand to do that)

I recall this being a big decision for me as well, so it's good of you to be asking.
Regarding which side I sleep on....I turn in the night, so I end up sleeping on both sides. I'm so used to my battery being there now, that I don't even know it's there when i toss and turn.

YOU GUYS!

Yes, I do ALL sorts of acrobatic things while I sleep. But most of my time is spent wrestling with my pillows http://dl3.glitter-graphics.net/pub/...ds1inl14oh.gif(Hi Pooh! :winky:)

And I DO mean PILLOWS. I have to have at least THREE of them at all times.
My SCS doesn't ever bother me in the least, unless I have it ramped up too high. But once I get the perfect 'buzzzzzzzz', it is SO very soothing.

Can u imagine THREE buzzing buddies all tucked in together??

Well Gerry

I see one of the buzzing buddies just never gets to read that note being passed back and forth.

Makes me think of See no evil, Hear no evil, Speak no evil.....

Or Peas porridge HOT, Peas porridge Cold, Peas porridge in the pot forever old.

Ohhhhhhh I have digressed again........ You guys are going to kick me off here.
