Are there any books out there on just RSD?
I have Dr. Hooshmand's book but I have been looking for more on just RSDS. Most deal with Cronic Pain. I have even checked at the local library and they don't have any listed on the computer.
Have any of you seen any out there on RSDS alone? Thanks, Ada |
RSD book
Ada, Paul R. Charlesworth, president of RSDSA recommends the RSD book LIVING WITH RSDS by Linda Lang and Peter Moskovitz, MD I get the book at Barnes and Noble $16.95 I found it easy to read with helpful information. There are other books, but I can not remember the titles. Hope this helps.Take Care, Carose

Positive Options for RSD
Written by Elena Juris 14.95 at BN. Not sure I love it yet though--it was recommended somewhere--haven't read through it all, keep looking up things as I go--How's that for not very helpful?

You are both very helpful.
I have been looking for months to find some new books on RSDS. The Libraries around here couldn't come up with any but now that I have the names I will walk down tomorrow and find out if they can find them for me through another library.
Thanks again, Ada |
are you looking for books with information on the disease, or for books that are giving you support in dealing with RSD? Or are you looking forbooks with inforamtion on how to deal with family, friends, or legal issues? i find books with information are repetitive and usually not up to date.

Hi Joan,
I'm ok with my family and friends. I just want books with more info. I just like reading books on these medical issues like the RSD and Fibro. I feel like the more I learn the better off I am .
They might be competitive but some are more up to date then others because some have been around longer. Ada |
i have ordered one book and seen a few in the book store but never found one with anything i had not already read on line. i do have a great book that a woman with rsd wrote ... i have it downstairs and it is my favorite because she talks of her struggles and you can really relate. i will check the name and author and post it on my next trip up here. joan

I found some that say they are online books about RSD-

Here are two more books that looked interesting--Positive Options for Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Self Help and Treatment by Elena Juris and Lessons from a Washing Machine by Ruth LS Miller Ruth was a RN for 25 years before RSD I have some B&N gift cards I will order these if not in stock. if they are any good I will mail them to you. When I first developed RSD I could not read ,so the book Living with RSDS was all I cared to get. RSD started in my left hand and for so long I could not even pick up a book, plus my mind was so out of balance so I could not read for any period of time. Even though I feel awful today-had to really think about how to spell awful, typed it three times before getting the correct spelling, I am so much better then I was two years ago when I had an auto accident. I can now read for about an hour before my hand gives out, plus many other positive things. I at least have some good days now,my mind does not wander into areas I don't care for it to go as often as it did in the beginning. I will take every positive minute I can get and pray it turns into hours and days, maybe someday years. Carose

About the spelling problems - the FireFox browser it has a built in spell check -I love it! you guys don't know how many things I misspell either by not hitting the right key or just not being sure of the words- but if i get the word halfway close it will underline it and then I right click and a list of word choices pop up, saves me a lot of frustration and retyping. just a click and it's fixed. high rated for speed and safety too http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/ |
