Heard Something New Yesterday

I have discovered craigslist website. :D It is so neat.:D If you haven't been on it, I suggest you check it out. I have been posting items for sale trying to make some extra money to pay for my doctor bills from my pacemaker surgery. I can't handle a garage sale so this is the place for me. I made $65.00 in 2 days. WOOHOO:D:D

Anyway, this post is about a young man (30ish) who came over yesterday to buy some of my classic rock albums. Really nice guy and we were chatting and when I told him I had MS, he said 2 of his friends had just been diagnosed recently. He said they were on Refib and doing ok so far. He said that they had a dog that had distemper and the doctor thinks that is what caused them to get MS.

They are a married couple and I was shocked when he said that. I have never heard of that theory. Pretty freaky thinking a married couple got it at the same time. I googled it and found some articles but it's all guess work. This was just plain weird.

I told him to give them my email address so we could chat. I hope I hear from them because this just flipped me out.

When I was about 5, we had a collie that had distemper. I don't remember much about her since I was so young but she bit my Dad after she first developed it and had to be put to sleep. There was nothing they could do for her and my Dad had to be on medication for a long time to clear the infection from her bite.

Another strange story about MS.

My DH has gone to Craigslist before, Beck~

That story is kinda creepy!

I know, isn't it? This young man knew their symptoms and the name of Refib! I was standing there listening to him with my mouth open, just stunned.

I'm going to .org. My brother told me about it and he sure wouldn't send me to .com if it was a bad deal. LOL

Now, I'm curious. I wonder what .com has on it.:p I'm a chicken and won't check it out but if someone knows, let me know. LOL:D

I love Craigs list. We found our latest travel trailer there!

And on the strange case of couple having MS, as you live with this disease you will hear more and more strange stories. I take them with a grain of salt and if they are too strange to believe they are probably not true.

I honestly believe this is one of those too strange to believe stories.

Well here are my two cents, I hate those distemper/MS stories! Yes distemper can manifest with neuro type symptoms but there has been absolutely NO credible research that I have ever seen to support this cross over. How many veterinarians with MS do you know? Me? 0, and I know a lot of vets.

It is a huge coincidence and shame that a husband and wife both have MS but I wouldn't take too much stock in the theory of how they contacted it.

I had a cat with distemper, and I have MS. :D

Yes, I've heard of this theory . . . but it's just like all the rest; a theory.

I'm looking for a 2007 car on Craig's List now. There is a craigslist for most major cities, and although I've never bought anything from it, there are some good listings.

BE CAREFUL with strangers coming to your house!!!!

when I am in a bad mood, my family accuses me of having distemper.:D

We bought my DD car off of Craig's List. Sweet little Neon from a woman who drove the car from work and back at a Toyota dealership.

24,000 miles and only $7,000. Could not ask for more. She even had the receipts for the oil changes made every 3,000 miles.

I guess my point was that after having MS over 16 years that this is one theory I had never heard of. I've heard a lot too. I was just posting what the young man told me, didn't intend to cause a fight with anyone. My vet. doesn't have distemper either.

Nobody knows what causes it and I have articles dating back to the early 90's when I was diagnosed with all kinds of theories. Same thing today. They have no clue.
