You’re going to laugh . . .

You’re going to laugh at me when you hear what I just bought; a Hawaii Hula Chair. After you finish rofling, consider this: I watched all the videos on the net about the chair. I looked at every manufacturer that I could find. It seems that this exercise helps with the posture muscles – the core muscles. There are days when I go to bed early simply because I can no longer sit up. I also read a review, (by a website that reviews exercise gear and does not sell Hula Chairs) suggesting that it might help with balance and coordination. These are all things with which I have significant problems. Also, I think it would work on the same muscles that are used by that Wii balance game/exercise, and I can tell you that my Wii really has helped me with balance. So I’ll let you know how it turns out. I suppose the worst that can happen is I have just bought an expensive conversation piece.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

They had one of these on the "Ellen" show once and it was hilarious! She tried making a phone call while sitting in it and got all tangled up in the phone cord....it was funny.

I think it'd make me sea sick!! :o

I think I threw my back out just watching the video. Holy Moly Marion; you'll have to let us know how you like it. I'm a little seasick, too!

And Y'all think I'm a silly old woman.. :D

Uh, Marion, honey, did you try it first? It looks like it could be dangerous. :eek:...Be careful and don't hurt yourself..:hug:

Here's Ellen...3 1/2 minutes of hilarity (is that a word?)!!! :D
I could never do a hula hoop as a child, so I for sure won't be trying this. But, having said that, I sure admire anyone who can do this! WOW!

There was a time I could Hula-hoop like you couldn't belive, years of sit-ups and leg lunges made me strong and sleek, I'm in a chair now, but sit up, transfer my selfamnd have good core strength, I think that chair would throw anyone, if core muscles are weak you better hold on. There are better core exercises out there I think. We have a member who owns a gym, bet she knows. Who in a chair can recommend anything about exercising? Or not in a chair.

Do not. (Of course 'm older too and think my 17 year olds are both being just kind and patient with me sometimes confusing Mom stuff for MS stuff.)

Oh, ye of little faith! Seriously, though, I’ll be the first to admit it if buying the chair was an exercise if futility (pun intended). I just have a good feeling about this product because of my lack of core muscle strength. In any case I am sure that it won’t be the most foolish decision I have ever made in my life. You should meet my ex-husband!

Kitty 05-01-2009 07:53 AM

Well, if nothing else you can get a good laugh out of it!

It'd be a great party game!! After one or two drinks the possibilities are endless!! :D
