Get a load of these shoes (From Japan)
I just had to share these pics of the LATEST shoes from JAPAN with you guys!!!
Doug (a buddy of ours with PN), sent me these, so I have to give credit where credit’s due. Can you even imagine walking in these? With neuropathy no less??? I’m dying to hear your opinions. Enjoy!! http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/j...blackshoes.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/j...lackshoes2.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/j...lackshoes4.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/j...lackshoes5.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/j...itterblack.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/j...leredshoes.jpg http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/j...eredshoes2.jpg |
Why in the world would anyone want to walk on their tip toes? And we women wonder why we have so many muscle and bone problems. . . sheesh.
I know I sure as heck wouldn't wear 'em! |
OH.....MY.....GOSH!!!!!
Can I say "Now I've Seen Everything?" Well probably not,,,,,,but,,,,, NOW I'VE THING EVERYSEEN!!!!:yikes: |
Actually, these pics were sent in an email and in the botton of the email, they showed an actual elderly Japanese lady with her FEET UNBOUND.
I did not want to include those photos in this thread. I didn't know if I would be breaking any protocol. I've seen photos of older women who have had their feet bound as children. They meet up and they wash their feet in some kind of meeting place. It's like an honor bound tradition for them. These ladies are proud that they have their feet bound. This was done in centuries past, but it has been outlawed. The shoes worn by people with bound feet are called Golden Lotus slippers. Men were attracted to Japanese women with little tiny feet. I can only imagine me living in Japan with my size 10 tootsies. They would have outlawed ME!!! I had viewed a documetary on Discovery some years ago and found the whole thing fascinating. I mean, there are not too many elderly ladies left in Japan and they are the only ones with bound feet. It becomes too late to get them unbound. They are not pliable, and they are frozen in place. I can't imagine parents doing this to their own children, but it was extremely acceptable back in the day, and men actually were attracted to the woman with bound feet. I think the feet look terrible, but that's the way it was way back when. But these shoes that I posted here. I can't imagine fitting into any of them. These woman must stand higher than 6 feet tall or better with these things on. |
Perhaps if those men were bound in some places (Empathy man and Duct tape keep flashing in my mind) they wouldn't be so admiring of bound feet, Ouch!!!
|
I'm trying to wrap my head around why ANYONE in their right mind, would allow a young baby to have their feet bound. I mean, it has to be the most painful thing. I once read where it was done up to the age of 3.
Can you imagine?? jeez |
Obscene!
Those are just basically obscene.... designers pushing the envelop to do
something "new".... trying to make the small boned short Japanese look TALL! You know the Japanese have some strange customs and ideas. Their Anime cartoons are very strange, and they have porn ones too. One concept they seem to love is the "tentacle monster". If you Wiki it....you will be shocked. (XXX rated). For that reason I won't put the link up. Google Tenacle monster, and it is the first item up. I had no idea about THIS until my son told me! SHEEEESH. |
Walk in those shoes? Heck, I couldn't even STAND in those shoes anymore! I used to LOVE wearing high heels, but geesh! Only a ballerina would be able to walk in those shoes. :p
That foot wrapping was strange, but I think our culture is starting to exhibit some of the same traits. Maybe I watch too much TV, but what's with all the plastic surgery? It seems just as barbaric to insert foreign objects into breasts, surgically rearrange faces, or inject botulism in order to make be more appealing to the opposite sex or society in general. I don't see much of a difference. |
they had the models in on one of the reality model shows where them. they couldn't walk. from what i understood, they were made for fashion shoots and not really to wear. i could be mistaken.

Mrs. D.
I googled Tentacle Monster. I HAD NO IDEA. Oh My God!! I knew about Japanese anime. Never was much interested in it. But like the Indians and the Kama Sutra, well, the Japanese have their Tentacle Monsters. Not surprising, look how they encouraged foot binding for females. What a nasty and painful thing to put women through. I took another look at the photos and I can't imagine ANYBODY able to walk down the street in the black ones. The ones that look like ballerina shoes. It makes the foot bend at such an unnatural angle. I can only wonder what they devise next. Some other kind of torturous thing. I once read where many woman are having their pinky toes removed so they can fit into DESIGNER SHOES. Good God. Oh, did anyone watch Ghost Whisperer the other day. They had Nikki Cox (formerly of Las Vegas), on as a guest. I'm looking at this 28 year old actress and I'm saying "what's wrong with her face". What's wrong with her mouth". I wasn't the only one thinking this because I went on the Internet Movie Database, put in her name, and THE WHOLE MESSAGE BOARD WAS TALKING ABOUT HER LIPS!!! It seems that she had implants put in. IMPLANTS IN HER LIPS??? People put implants in their lips?? Now I've heard of Resylane, and botox, and lip augmentation, but IMPLANTS??? They also say it's irreversible. Her lips were so HUGE, I could not believe I was seeing what I was seeing. My god, the things some women will do to their face. Reminds me of Jocelyn Wildenstein. |
Holy cow...
I need a link for these! |
They might come in handy if you're forced to stand in the back row behind someone tall. :D

Here's a link to the Internet Movie Database and it's all about Nikki Cox and her lips. Scroll down and you'll see the messages. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0185178/ |
I loved shoes, even wore three inch heels in my 20's. Those shoes looked more like art than real.
Now, I look high and low for fashionable slippers. |
didnt elton john have a pair like the big red pair with gold fish in the heels?
tell me you get a free cane with these shoes |
I still don't think a woman could walk with those tall black things on her feet. Thre is no place to put down your foot. So how could a person walk on these.
They are like ballerina toe slippers WITH HEELS. You would have to stay in one position. Absolutely ridiculous!!! |
Two words Mel~~ OUCH! OUCH!

Foot binding is part of China's history (it was banned, thought to now not to be practiced) anymore, not Japan.
http://www.ccds.charlotte.nc.us/Hist...s/hutchins.htm http://www.npr.org/templates/story/s...toryId=8966942 I have no idea where the shoes came from... my mom sent me the same email since I lived in Japan - she wanted to know if I did this (with my size 10's!). |
Look at this video from youtube. It shows the whole thing.
I've seen this before. I can only say one thing. How disgusting that men forced women to do this, that they would NOT marry them unless their feet were bound. That it was THE MAN'S MOTHER'S duty to lift up the hem of the girl and make sure her feet were bound. It was a status, class thing. If you didn't have bound feet, no one would marry you. And to think that some girls had this done when they were 7 years old. I read the whole description. Absolutely horrendous. Just let me add one thing. Remember when women would say, "I'd like to see a man give birth" ???????? I only wish that 100 years ago, someone grabbed a hold of the men, and did to THEM, what they did to women. You'd see the laws change so fast, it would make your head spin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_FYM2Y4AR4 |
I can't even say in public what we call those high heel shoes around here.
:thud: |

Cultural differences
The ancient practice of binding a woman's feet is cultural. Are there still Geisha girls in Japan? Not the ceremonial kind. [U]The Geisha Girl[U] was fascinating, it really gave insight into the whole process.
It got me thinking about various cultures and what is considered beautiful. How about the women who put neck rings on to stretch their necks. I wonder what would happen if the rings were removed, does the spine bones also grow to compensate the extension of the neck? Or the tribe somewhere that puts a disk on their bottom lip to stretch it. One cannot think of the table manners...close your mouth when you eat?:D I am trying to think of other cultures that have a standard of beauty that we do not share here in the USA. Can anyone think of any? Melody - if this hijacks your thread, tell everyone to ignore it and I will remove it!:) |
