For Hire: "TKS"

hi, I am moi...

I am a "Thread Killing Specialist"

If you should feel that you are the thread killer and would like to hire me to kill the thread for you, please send me a PM.

my payment is pretty simple: send me 2 ((HUGS)) and some big teeth >>>> :D

that will be all that's required...

PS, if you are thinking about hiring me to play with your kitty cat, that's a different type of thread...but I can be talked into almost anything... ;)

who moi 02-09-2009 02:15 PM

OK...I am actually being serious about that...LOL

the reason why I posted this is that I see many people here that care...a lot of them I have gotten to know very well...

I also see folks that are intimidated or scared...and they fear that they might only have 2 views to their thread or 1 or no responses to their threads...

that happens and it can scare the poster away, sure....

the dynamics in the forums are unpredictable, there are times when I'd see a forum hopping and bopping for weeks and then, BOOM,it just dies down....

there are times when I'd see a thread take off and you'd think, go go go, and then boom, it just die down...

and of course, those folks that posted last when the thread dies often think of themselves as the "THREAD KILLER"

I can't agree with "THREAD KILLER" because I believe there is an end to all threads...although some of them do get a second or even third life sometimes, but really, one can only talk about a topic for so much...

If I was to start a thread: "Mosquitos are cute"

I cannot see that thread having a very long shelf life but I would post it anyways because it amuses me...

FORUM....when the Romans and the Greeks let their folks have a FORUM to go to, it was to let them have a voice....

it is very important to have a voice....we are very lucky in this day and age to have a cyber forum to VOICE....

please do NOT let silences intimidate you...you are here for a reason....you NEED support and a lot of folks WILL be here to support you....

I am suggesting one to NOT count numbers of views, replies, or being the "Thread Killer" bother them but to let one's voice out....

and if you feel like you've killed a thread, I am serious, send me a PM, I'd very gladly be a thread killer for you....for I talk a lot of none sense anyways and nobody pays me any mind...LOL

first and foremost, this is a neurological forum....neurology is a hard nut to crack....mental health is a hard nut to crack...if anyone has the answers, we wouldn't be here in the first place....

please post, please speak...please let us support you...newbies, oldies, don't be scared....get your feet wet...

I am not preaching, I understand because I grew up thinking I was alone in a crowded room....but I don't anymore....I hope you'll feel at home here at NT...

(((((:grouphug:)))))

Jomar 02-09-2009 02:30 PM

good topic.:)

Remember that the "views" number can include guests, search bots {quite a few of those-constantly}, and other members that may not be comfortable about replying if they aren't familiar with the topic.

so don't take those numbers as anything personal or negative.
:grouphug:

Curious 02-09-2009 03:51 PM

Also, remember that it count you EACH time you check the new replies. Even after you have replied.

It counts each person over and over, who is reading the replies.

Views is just a number and has no real meaning. Just something that comes with the software. Like spellcheck...I don't bother with that one either. :p

karousel 02-09-2009 07:44 PM

I like to think of myself as a thread killer. :D At least that way I have a job and it sounds kind of dangerous. :)

karousel 02-09-2009 07:49 PM

But seriously, I do sometimes feel like a thread killer but I've learned it's not me, it's just the end of the conversation and time to move on.

SandyC 02-09-2009 08:39 PM

I've been a thread killer a time or two in my life. I became used to it and like living on the edge of wonder. LOL

sabimax 02-09-2009 09:23 PM

MOI, now wait I want to go back to the starting a thread on how cute mosquitos are, I think we could get a few pages on that!!

seriously, good topic, when I was newbie to sites like these, those numbers or not many replys gets me...and sometimes I have to remind myself if no replies, maybe not the right people on the topic got to read and respond.

anyhow, all know we are here, and the numbers do not matter, hoping all find support and info and hugss here, hugsss all, sarah

who moi 02-11-2009 01:08 PM

hmmmmm, sarah, ya think "mosquitos are cute" will get to 4 pages?? I bet you get one response, moi... LOLOL

karousel, too funny...I know I've killed many threads but I have never believed in "thread killing" anyways...so I never noticed that I was killing it...there was a thread rescuer started by kimmydawn a long time back and who knows, maybe it'll get bumped up one day again...

Sandy, toi, a thread killa?? Nah...more like a running from killer bee runner, I've seen the photos...you can't deny that...

truth be told, I thought I'd open some doors with this thread because maybe someone was thinking about it and didn't felt comfortable enough to talk about it...

and maybe it's the "Mother" in me opening up lately, I been feeling a lot of cramps lately ever since I've been hanging out with the grandkids...maybe my progestrone/estrogen level is up, I swear I was the one that asked my wife the other day, "Honey, do you think my butt looks fat??"

:p

:grouphug:

PS, and now I am here killing my own thread...mwahahahahah....

Moi - I just have to say that I love you (Spanish Moss is a lucky lady)! Your sense of humor is always excellent, but your soul is beautiful. What a sweet thread to post. You are always thinking of other people's feelings.

*blush, holly...love to you also. I guess like Frank says, I'll keep on posting until the thread dies, so here goes. LOL

I think about where we all are at different times and places in our lives...

I am more of a regular now, I have posted enough and seen enough to know and see how forum dynamics work (well, never fully but definitely more understanding)...I am now comfortable where I am at...because I know the folks...although a lot of it took a bit to build up...

but I think back to the time when I was a newbie, and how timid I was to post...and this goes way back almost 10 years ago in other forums...and I was scared and embarassed or would feel like I've said something wrong if no one responded to me...but as I got to know people and understand the dynamics, I learned...

but I came close to leaving when I first started in the forum format so many years ago...and to think of what I would have lost...

and I hope that no one will miss that kind of support...it truly is something special...how can cyber support be so awesome, I don't know...but it is..at least for me...

as for the caring part...I went through a big part of my life thinking that no one cared...even though folks DID cared...but I was too stupid to understand that folks cared and I was in this stupid blindfold and was not able to see...it was only when I went through my self-journey that I realized that I was CARED about all of my life...I was just not smart enough to see that...

but for a lot of those folks, it is either too late for me to find them and thank them or that some of them were simply strangers that crossed my path at the right place and the right time...and that in this realization, the only thing I can do is to pass it forward...because I am grateful...

and I care because it is folks like you, holly, and others that care back....

I think my posts are too long most of the time, but it has helped me tremendously to share my experiences. Venting can be relief of anxiety. If I can help another member in any way I'll share it. I need this forum so much. I found lots of helpful tips to help me and I hope I have helped others in some way. I do care about you all. I know you all care about me. That's a good feeling to be a part of .

I do look for "replies" and "thanks." I guess I want to know if someone out there can relate to what I'm posting or if it helped in some way... and looking for approval... for support... courage and encouragement. both to give and receive. it's a win/win gift.

many thanks

To Re-New the Thread,

It's sort of like the old "cat tale".....
More than one way, ya know?
To kill a thread?

You can just say something dumb.
(Which, I think perhaps lots of us, I know I am, think we're experts at just saying something stupid enough that nobody responds.)

Or, to the other extreme,
Give a "Definitive Answer" to the posted question.
Bam. Thread ended.

However, and of course, there are so many other ways to kill a thread...

Just one option,
I can just let my TBI take over (as if that's my choice),
and, then something so far out of left field comes into play,
that it might have something ta do with it,
but,
it don't really and
then.....

All of a sudden,
Nothing.

Nothing at all.

Do ya get that?

That you once knew where this post, (Let alone thread)
was heading, and
now,
NOW,
You don't have a clue,
because,
I'm
(NOT YOU)
So
Sick.
And with
TBI
T
I
M
E

I
S

M
E
A
N
I
N
G
L
E
S
S.

Get that?

T i m e G e t s S l o w .

OR, You can just end the friggin' thread with a finality, like this:

Ya know what?
Who gives a dam about Mosquitoes?

Love you all and BE WEll!

Blessings,
Pete
ASB

Oldies and Newbies

(((HUGS))), Mr. Moi! Thank you for encouraging the "OLDIES" as well as the NEWbies. It is intimidating to post after so long a time without having done it! The ebb and flow of the site is "Greek" to me so far! It is wonderful though to see some of my old friends! Oh, and yes, we do have such wonderful memories of DC, eh? Hugs to both you and N.!
