Stick a Fork in Me, I'm Done

I'll try and make this as short as possible.

Oct 07 had surgery to remove all my colon. Recovered from that and was doing well.

Few weeks ago was weak and faint and at one point passed out. Went to the doctor. They did blood work. Found out I'm severely anemic. They put me in the hospital and give me 3 units of blood. Then send me to the GI doctor to find out why I'm losing blood. I'm scheduled next week for a scope to see if I have a bleeding ulcer or if I'm not absorbing iron. But if those aren't the reason then it's probably something to do with the surgery and they'll probably need to open me back up, which ain't happening. I've made up my mind on that.

Two days ago DH was out of breath. Take him to the doctor. They rush him by ambulance to hospital. He has blood clots in both lungs and in his leg. They give him meds to thin his blood.

DH has his own business. He was able to get released from the hospital this morning to attend an important meeting with his 1 big client...who promptly fired him.

So now we're both having serious health issues and he doesn't have work.

I don't know if it's because of being anemic but I'm emotionally numb right now. Maybe it's because I'm tired. All I know is, I'm done. I'm done.

CayoKay 03-27-2008 01:16 PM

oh, man!

that's a rotten series of events!

I wish I knew the "right" thing to say, to help, but I don't.

I *do* wanna ask though...

why don't you want another surgery?

if something needs repaired, wouldn't you *want* it fixed?

or was the first surgery so awful, you don't want to be opened up again?

 and hang in there, Bunny.

suzyqz_2007 03-27-2008 01:37 PM

I hate to hear that you are having such a hard time. I know it's easier said than done but hang in there, don't give up. Prayers and great big hugs are being sent to you.

Keely 03-27-2008 02:15 PM

You give so much joy to all of us with your wonderful cartoons--and your great attitude! Prayers are being sent for you and your DH--we're thinking of you! :grouphug:

Twinkletoes 03-27-2008 02:27 PM

Catchy title, Bunny, but I was expecting your thread was going to be something light-hearted. What a crummy series of events for you to have to deal with. :(

So sorry for you and DH. Hope you find that "open window" soon. Hugs to you both. :grouphug:

DM 03-27-2008 02:39 PM

Hi! Talk about having alot on your plate~~ I remember when you had your colon surgery and the time leading up to it. I am sorry you continue to have problems. I will keep you and your DH in my prayers that he continues to recupe, find work and that the solution to your anemia will be easier on you.

take care and keep us posted, OK?

AfterMyNap 03-27-2008 02:41 PM

Oh, no. Just know that I am praying for both of you.:(

SallyC 03-27-2008 02:42 PM

Sheesh, Baxter, you guys don't do anything in a small way..Huh? :(

Sending up prayers ro help. I hope You and DH see some light at the end of that tunnel real soon..:hug:

tkrik 03-27-2008 05:13 PM

Saying prayers for you and your dh. Remember God does not give you more than you can handle. Things will work out.

FinLady 03-27-2008 05:53 PM

 You've been through so much. Add my prayers to the other ones.

Jodylee 03-27-2008 05:59 PM

Hey Bax!!!!! You can't be done!!! Things will get better. I firmly believe that.:hug::hug:

sugarboo 03-27-2008 06:21 PM

Ya know, if its not one thing, its another! I'm so sorry you both have to endure this. The things that life is throwing ALL of us lately is just too much sometimes. Kick us when we're down huh?

I'm going to go count my blessings and see if I can't find a reason to be happy. There must be light at the end of the tunnel aye?

I WON'T use one of those "hated" phrases today...just empty words!

BUT: Sending some good vibes your way and pray the days ahead improve and an unexpected good comes from all the suffering.

KarenMarie 03-27-2008 07:52 PM

You're supposed to take turns !!! Thinking of you and adding you to my prayer list - seems long this spring !!

PolarExpress 03-27-2008 09:24 PM

Maybe it's just my overactive imagination, but 2008 has not been a stellar year for most of us so far..I'm so sorry this has all happened to you guys. I keep thinking it can only get better from here..Right? Right..You're always in my thoughts and prayers!

Kitty 03-28-2008 05:29 AM

No, 2008 hasn't been the greatest for a lot of us - and Baxter I hope things improve for you - and soon. Like someone else said seems like being kicked when you're already down.

BaxterTheBunny 03-29-2008 01:07 AM

I can't believe my life.

Without going into details. My idiot neighbor assaulted me in my backyard with a golf club this evening. He hit the outside of my right leg near my knee. It's very swollen. I'm going in the morning to the doctor. They'll probably xray it to make sure nothing is broken.

I've lived in our neighborhood for over 10 years. It's a small quiet neighborhood. Mostly families and older couples.

I've had problems with this idiot since they moved in a few years ago.

The cops hauled him away in handcuffs. Hopefully he'll at least spend tonight in jail. I'm going on Monday and get a restraining order against him.

Wonder what the judge and jury are going to say about a guy who assaults an unarmed woman who has MS with a golf club?

I'm beyond done...

Kitty 03-29-2008 05:24 AM

OMG Baxter - why in the world would he hit you with a golf club!!?? He DOES sound like an idiot - was he drunk?

Please be careful - people who resort to violence in any situation are, in my opinion, ticking timebombs.

You've had enough drama - it's time for a break.....I hope you get one soon.

Jodylee 03-29-2008 05:58 AM

ARGH! Psycho neighbors can be a nightmare. Please be careful like Kelly said. Let us know how the doctor visit goes, okay?

AfterMyNap 03-29-2008 09:50 AM

Oh my gosh! That's just insane! Hopefully, if you press charges he'll get sent away for some thinking time.

Have you checked the national registries for his name? He may have more of a past than you know and it could help your case. Don't take any carp from him!

I hope nothing's broken, you sure don't need that.

PunkDizzle 03-29-2008 10:08 AM

wow Bax i am so sorry to hear about all that you are dealing with.:(
and then to have to deal with a POS neighbor on top of it all. i say nail him to the wall.. just sue until he cant afford to live there anymore..

SallyC 03-29-2008 10:56 AM

OMG!!! I am so sorry. Yes, please be careful. This Idiot probably wouldn't hesitate to break a restraining order..

Koala77 03-29-2008 08:08 PM

As if you didn't have enough to contend with right now.

What a terrible thing to happen to your DH after such a life threatening illness, and the attack on you leaves me speechless!

Am thinking of you BTB. Please let us know how things are going for you and your DH.

Hugs to you both......:grouphug:

ewizabeth 03-29-2008 08:43 PM

Oh my gosh, I'll keep you and DH in my prayers. :( And having to put up with that crazy neighbor on top of it!?:hug::hug::hug::hug:

sugarboo 03-29-2008 10:44 PM

OMG! What is wrong with people? What is going on!!!???

I'm so sorry.....here...let me remove the fork for you ;)

BaxterTheBunny 03-29-2008 11:37 PM

Thanks everyone for your sincere concern for me and my DH and for your thoughts and prayers.

I went to the doctor today and they took xrays of my left ankle, right hand and my right leg and knee. (He attacked me from the right and I fell on my left side) I twisted my left ankle when I fell so it's swollen. My right hand is bruised and the area all around my right knee is very bruised and very swollen, I can't bend it, and very painful. I can't put any weight on my right leg. I have a knot on the right side of my head. I know he kept hitting me after the initial hit to my right leg with the golf club, but I was in so much pain from that hit I can't remember the rest.

I'm in a considerable amount of pain. I am definitely feeling it today. I go back to the doctor on Monday. I'll be going to get a restraining order on Monday too.

The 'you know what' did have to spend last night in jail. Hopefully that will give him a taste of what's to come. He was booked on aggravated assault and battery. The aggravated assault is a felony, so hopefully he won't get off with just probation but will have to serve some time.

DH is taking shots and pills to thin his blood and dissolve the clots in his lungs and leg. He seems to be doing pretty good. Now he just needs to find a job.

Thanks again everyone. It's so good to be able to come here and have some shoulders to cry on. :grouphug:

Love you all

sugarboo 03-30-2008 12:07 AM

Thanks for the update bunny! Also, I know you've probably thought of this, but be very careful. I'm just looking out for you  Restraining orders, as you know, don't stop people all the time. It's too bad that you are so close to this creep. I don't know what caused him to attack, but keep safe and be prepared to protect yourself, should the need arise. I do hope he gets the full plate he has coming to him!

You did take pictures right? And take more in a few days when all the brusing is at its worst!!

I figure only blue skies are heading your way from here....moving you to the front of the line for good fortune

PolarExpress 03-30-2008 12:27 AM

Is this typical behavior for this particular neighbor? That's just unbelieveable.. I think PunkDizzle's right..Sue him till he can't afford to live there anymore.. Solves two problems for you right there..
Take care of yourself, BB..And keep a big stick of your own handy.

CayoKay 03-30-2008 10:52 AM

aw, man, Bunny!

it's so HARD to live near whack-jobs.

and so difficult to pack up and move away.

some people just do not BELONG on Planet Earth.

I hope the judge who does your TRO, (and PRO, gotta remember to make it PERMANENT, okay?) has compassion and sternness, and FLAGS your order, to make sure the case is followed CLOSELY, and that police response is SWIFT, if and when the order is violated in the future, and that punishment is severe...

I concur with several people above, who said that if the guy is CRAZY enough to attack a defenseless disabled woman, then, he's CRAZY enough to violate an order, because his rage, well, he obviously is NOT in control of himself.

and... I hope he's sentenced to jail for a LONG-arsed time!

he!! is too good for some folks.

SallyC 03-30-2008 12:56 PM

Not that it matters, because there is NO excuse for what he did (unless you had a gun). , but I'm curious as to what motivated him to lose it and attack you.

I am so sorry for your pain..(the A-hole:mad:)..Take it easy for a few days, until you can heal.

DM 03-31-2008 11:32 AM

I am just so saddened to hear what that nut did to you! That's just so awful. Please keep us updated on how you are doing. I'm glad your DH is feeling better and I will keep you both in my prayers.

*still shaking my head that people *should say "animals"* feel they can violate someone like that.

take care and I'm just really infuriated that this happened to you.

(sending hugs) :hug::hug::hug::hug:

sugarboo 03-31-2008 10:12 PM

I bet she was hoarding the water! :D

Okay, just kidding.... ;)

BaxterTheBunny 04-01-2008 08:20 PM

Thanks everyone for your good wishes

Found out the guy has several priors. One being in 2004 convicted of battery. He's a nut job.

KAOheim 04-02-2008 07:44 AM

Guy wasn't a cowboy fan, was he?

Glad they got him taken care, what a bizzare story. Hope you and your husband turn the corner here real shortly. Got my fingers crossed.

Please be careful. . . . these kinds of people end up on the 6 o'clock news with a bunch of friends commenting "he was just the nicest guy...can't imagine what set him off."

I hope he moves - or just goes away for a nice long time.

momXseven 04-02-2008 08:08 AM

I'm kind of late here, I'm so sorry life is awful right now. I'm sending lots of prayers your way that everything gets better soon.http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...linky/hug3.gif
