I'm Really Bummed

I was supposed to have my MRI today but the doctor didn't send the orders over until yesterday. I saw him on Friday. My insurance won't approve the test until tomorrow so we are trying to find another time.

I know some of you will think this is stupid but I'm having a "tightening" over the entire right side of my face. I'm not beautiful but I always get compliments on my smile. I can't smile. It makes me so sad.....sorry....just had to vent.

Im with you! I want the folks who are supposed to be setting this stuff up, to do it in a timely fashion, and not keep me waiting, and worried.

I hope you get your answers quick and your smile returns.

Hmmmm, is bells palsy a possibility? I had that once and your face looks and feels like you're having a stroke.

Good luck with the MRI, whenever they decide you may have it..

That sounds uncomfortable and scary. Hope it resolves ZAP! all on its own very quickly.

Yes, it does sound like Bells Palsy. I had that once and it was no fun.

NurseNancy 08-24-2011 06:00 PM

yes, that's crappy office mgmt.
if you get any other sx's consider the ER.

i hope this comes thru for you soon. keep checking about the approval daily.

Good news!

I got a call at 12.30 that insurance granted approval.
Apparently the lady felt bad after hearing my story and stayed on them until they got it done.

Not only that they got a vein for the contrast! I have horrible veins from Crohn's disease.

I have never been able to have a complete study before.

I LOVE this place

Thanks everyone for your kind words. My day deFinitey got better and you all were patt of that

Not Sure About Bells Palsy

Wouldn't my eyes droop? Had tightness around the eye but no drooping

Jodylee 08-25-2011 05:50 AM

Awwww sweetie  I got a chill reading this 'symptom'. I had the exact same thing happen back in 2007. My right eye started to 'twitch', then my cheek around my nose on the right as well... then I noticed my mouth was being pulled 'up' in a crooked permanent smile on that side, like it was being pinched.

I saw a neurologist who fluffed me off telling me I was stressed. I was miserable, fearing that my face would remain as such for life, crooked and bent. :( I suspected Bells Palsy too, but again I asked the question "Wouldn't it be drooping??".

I never did find out what had called the face pinch, and it eventually subsided on its own.. I haven't had a recurrence since that couple months of face twitching/pinch into a half perma-smile.

To be honest .. it was more noticeable to me than anyone else, so my best suggestion is to keep at those docs for answers, treatment, and to remember you're beautiful inside and out. I'm praying for you that this symptom will subside quickly for you.

best of luck with the test.

Hope you get some answers, Gigi...the 'testing' times are the absolute worse cause we don't know what's going on and live in the feelings associated with Limbo land~

I hear ya GiGi. I've been getting single muscle strand spasms in my shoulder, forearm, bicep, tricep, chest, neck, had a few in my eyebrow but stopped.
Advice? though it's not helping me much, use the [smile] muscle all you can. Then smack whoever makes fun & smile harder :)
