How are you doing Bobby?

You've been pretty quiet...
I was just wondering how you are sleeping, and how you are doing in general?

mymorgy 08-22-2017 06:34 AM

I am tired. I keep on forgetting that that from everything i read the stroke leaves you tired. My balance is off. the raise in wellbutrin seems to have helped. but i am still depressed. I am still not sleeping swell but i asked to lower the drug because i am always tired
love

OhKay 08-22-2017 07:55 AM

How long has your balance been off? Do you think it could be from the Wellbutrin, which may be a temporary side effect?

I'm glad your depression is a little bit better. Some antidepressants have to build up in your blood stream for a while before they achieve their full effect

I wish you were sleeping better. Being exhausted doesn't help with depression at all :hug::hug:

mymorgy 08-22-2017 08:22 AM

i have been on wellbutrin for a long time. he just increased it.the balance has been off for a long time.

mymorgy 08-22-2017 01:30 PM

I have brain damage from the stroke and it has shown up so many times.
I just bought a stredder and was running it in reverse. the porter came up and fixed it one two three. It is happening more frequently

Bobby

See if they have an stroke support group somewhere in the area for you.
Or if there is one online.

the last post was in 2015

mymorgy 08-23-2017 06:05 AM

i signed up for one at the mayo clinic

OhKay 08-23-2017 06:52 AM

I have seen all my MRIs, and sometimes I think of myself of being brain damaged because of the MS. It's not a pleasant thought, but it's true. I'm sorry that you are thinking of the damage from your stroke in that way right now :hug::hug:

I'm glad that you joined the Mayo Clinic forum. I'm sure that there are a lot of people there who struggle with the same things you are struggling with now, and a lot of people who can give you good guidance and support

Have you been having falls recently because of your balance problems, or are you getting around the apartment okay (with or without your cane)?

Have you been getting out for your walks at all, or have you not felt up to it?

I wish things were easier for you Bobby :hug::hug:
I hope that the increase in Wellbutrin starts to kick in and help you soon... some good sleep would be nice, too :hug::hug:

mymorgy 08-23-2017 07:46 AM

so far nobody has shown up for the stroke forum but I am hoping some doctors might. I used to be very sharp. Now I notice delays in my thoughts. Having to wait to think of one word after another. I have to look up news about google and walmart so I thought of google and noticed the delay about walmart. I don't know if I want support or information. I am so tired. everything is stressful. i haven't been falling lately but i have been bumping into things. I don't use my cane in my apartment. I haven't felt like doing anything

bizi 08-23-2017 08:11 AM

I am sorry that the stroke forum here is so inactive. I am surprised about that being a neuro forum.:(
I did question this on the community forum for you.

Dmom3005 08-23-2017 08:47 AM

:hug:There is no way of knowing. But it also might be that no one else thinks the group is active.

I know that its not an stroke group. But the post concussion group I think is its name is active. And honestly some of the things that happen to you would fall in that category also. The forgetting, having to think of answers, the time from wanting to know to thinking of the name of what you want to know.

I know I have dealt with thoughts of damage to the brain from the multiple concussions I have had. And the falls that come with some of these.

i just realized i just started again on double dose of topamax. i thought u was going to run out. maybe that is the memory thingie.

mymorgy 08-23-2017 12:44 PM

I really think it is topamax because unless i have had another stroke I am doing wild things with my memory. I forgot to close the screen door on the terrace and just closed the other other door. just now with my keurig i forgot to put the cup down as the coffee started coming down. I will give it a couple more days and if it persists I will call my doctor and see if I can go off it and see if that is the culprit

Dmom3005 08-23-2017 06:18 PM

Bobby

It could easily be the problem. I know when Derrick was on Topamax he had memory problems. And took 5 minutes to answer most questions.

bizi 08-23-2017 09:32 PM

I believe that some people have memory issues with topamax.

I am going to cut back to one. I think that is what it was. really scary

OhKay 08-24-2017 06:10 AM

I'm sorry that you're having those problems and that they scared you :hug::hug:

I have also heard that Topamax can cause cognitive problems. I hope that cutting your dosage helps with the issues you are having

I'm glad you haven't been falling
I don't use my cane in my apartment either. It's a PITA.

mymorgy 08-24-2017 07:08 AM

a real pain!

Mari 08-25-2017 12:53 AM

Yikes re the Topamax.

Keep yourself safe.:)

M

mymorgy 08-25-2017 03:33 AM

IT IS REALLY DANGEROUS. when i was on it two weeks before i was okay. that is why i didn;t immediately think it was topamax.

Mari 08-25-2017 05:26 AM

Topamax

I can see why you did not recognize the issue right away.

It was not a good med for me.

M

OhKay 08-25-2017 08:33 AM

I haven't had a problem with it. It's funny... I can tolerate a **** ton of meds.

I hope you are feeling better soon
