Dear Dave
Don't get a chance to go out myself because of my ailments
Having the Christmas music on
And when I sing
My granddaughter loves to sing
I'm talking all the oldies too
She loves the grinch song
And I go nuts when it comes on
She gets so thrilled when I go crazy
singing and dancing
A bummer how we cannot njoy the outdoors
And human contact
We have so much to give the world
I will however will have some down time with my
Long long long old time friend Jimbo
Next Friday
So looking forward to it
Merry Christmas
Love
Me

Dear eva,

My little Grandson, 2 1/2, went to the Carol Service for the first time and loved it, came back bright eyed and excited. Christmas truly is all about the children, luckily I am a big kid:D

Ok, only click this Link if you like a laugh and are not easily offended - it is South Park being crude, but no swearing. Very funny, in a twisted way.

Lara 12-15-2015 07:20 PM

LOL Dave. Groan.
Can't get much more "ocker" than that. :o

I do admit it's always been an unusual experience hearing about sleigh bells ringing and building snow people when it's absolutely sweltering. I tried to find a few really Australian songs but there just aren't any apart from Six White Boomers which I loath to post these days. I guess the most famous Australian song relating to Christmas is the Paul Kelly song "How to make gravy" and it's a bit of a dirge about a convict in jail not being home to make the gravy as usual. ;) What can I say? :winky:

Dan is one of my favorite singers. I miss him dearly...used to see him in concert every time he came to New England.

As far as Christmas songs, I am OLD OLD school....
Nat King Cole, all the way....really, does ANYONE have a smoother voice?!
I think not;)

I even fondly remember my mother playing a Burl Ives Christmas album that we loved as children.

EnglishDave 12-16-2015 09:42 AM

Thanks Diandra,

Nat King Cole had such a smooth voice. I don't know why YouTube made the connection, but this one was listed under Nat in the Suggestions. A favourite I had forgotten about:
