Welcome BrainTalk Members!!!!!

Hi folks,

We set up this temporary set of forums so you can continue gaining support from friends online while the original BrainTalk resolves its technical issues.

Because we're not associated with the original BT community, you will have to register as a new user here. We don't have anyone's old accounts.

Please feel free to use this place as much as you'd like, and let me know if you need anything else.

DocJohn

Thanks so much, Doc. And thanks to Witt for letting me know about this site. This has been a rough couple of months. Just as the site went down, I became ill, and desperately wanted to talk to someone.

BTW- is there a way to insert my avatar here, yet?

dahlek 08-23-2006 09:53 AM

This site is a good as any.......

Brain Talk has not been the only support board that has crashed in the last year. I've checked out many boards in my areas of interest and most have crashed in the past year....some for extended periods of time, months even. Some have had to start up and over. With folks re-registering and prior posts lost...gone.

It happens, don't complain, just be glad that DocJohn has tried to provide a smaller, albiet smaller version for the interim.

Depending on your condition, we all know that there are good, bad and indifferent boards out there. Use the good ones, dabble in the indifferent, and simply ignore the bad. BT has been a stellar board in my book, with polite, curious, knowledgable folks contributing to it. It's all those good people that have made it so.

THANKS! DOCJOHN!!!!! - j

I have taken the liberty of starting the Yahoo group noted in my signature below in case BT 2 disappears without warning. The group will be unmoderated until further notice but everyone is welcome to use it. Bookmark it just in case you need a spare.

Hello everyone!
I just joined today and this is my first posting. Just to let you know something about me I have a grade II Oligodendroglioma tumor which about 93% of it was removed in '02, radiation treatment in '04 and I continue to take med's for seizures.

Let me know about yourself and tell me about this website.

Thanks,

T

I joined in August and was wondering if there are any other "new" members here who were not on BT1.

Welcome

hello tstraurs and kitt. We're glad you wanted to join our forums. It hasn't been open a long time but DOCJohn set this up for us. He is a very kind and caring person and has welcomed all.

In answer to your question about BT1, some of the people here did come from BT1 but not everybody. I myself have met some really nice people.

The Mods here are like no other mods that I have has on the different boards I have been on. they are really nice, their names are at the bottom of each forum and several other places too. I'm still trying to learn the ropes too.

Make yourself at home and if you need answers just aske, somebody will try to answer them.

Welcome to you both, Kitt and tstraurs , Jo

Kitt 09-21-2006 01:53 PM

Thanks for the warm welcome JoJo6. It is nice to find other new members as well:)

JoJo6 09-21-2006 02:18 PM

Kitt

I wanted to tell you that everybody coming thru that door are "new". As far as I know this is the first time DocJohn has had this forum but he has a heart of gold.

Back to the newbies, many people that have joined here did come from BT1/JohnLesters forums. Many didn't, but like I said earlier, every body here is NEW, we;re even, all starting a fresh venture. Don't let someone try to bully you just because they say they been to BT or other forums a long time. that doesn't mean a thing.:)

I like to think of it as a new beginning aand I see things that just bowls me over. I'm excited about everything, I have spent way to much time on the forum than my back allows and I am suffering for it, but i have to choose what is worth suffering for sometimes. I considered this worthy of the pain, this time. lol

So, we are all new members here, no matter where we came from. DocJohn will treet each of us the same. He has so far and the kind of caring he has does not come around often.

So again, I welcome you all again and you can welcome me. Kitt, you have been here longer than I have, :) It was very nice to meet both of you. Jo
