Attetion AMN

AMN I came on this morning ready to do a Pancake Poll and it wasn't there - what's up? :(

oooops can't spell Attention - no I can spell just can't type!

AfterMyNap 09-17-2009 07:33 AM

Hey! Mellow out you little runt! Science takes time! First attempt wasn't quite right. It was good, but it needs tweaking. When I've perfected the recipe, methodology and appearance, I'll go public.

Sheesh, what kind of pancakes did you make? Just as I suspected.

*smack*

AZjanie 09-17-2009 09:56 AM

How do you make a pancake roll; mine just fall over?

Is AMN hiding things?

I guess that's why I can't find my favorite pen and the LAST candy bar!

ewizabeth 09-17-2009 09:19 PM

They have gluten free pancake mix at Jewel. I saw it today. :p Might get me some of that. ;)

watsonsh 09-17-2009 10:14 PM

I hope AMN is making enough pancakes for all of us.

Dejibo 09-18-2009 08:50 AM

I wandered over here....I thought I smelled food. :icecream:

kicker 09-18-2009 11:34 AM

hulagrl 09-18-2009 12:04 PM

SallyC 09-18-2009 12:21 PM

Any time, just wake me up. I have fresh local blueberries bursting with perfection, VT maple syrup, sausage, eggs, ham, fresh local peaches, and fixin's for a great bloody Mary, or if you prefer, a dazzling mimosa. :D

While the chumps go pay for their luke warm retail delights, I will happily serve up a fresh, hot bounty while you take my orders on the legwork!

Dangit, now I'm hungry for my blueberry pecan pancakes!

kicker 09-18-2009 03:59 PM

If you're cooking, you can have a million secret ingredients!! I won't ask. I'll even help with clean-up.

I'll bring OJ for the mimosas.

Wow! Blast from the past! All this breakfast chatter has reminded me of a year in the life that I had all but forgotten. In my first apartment out of my parents' house, my roommate and I used to throw these huge brunches where everyone had to bring something to be cooked for the buffet. We crammed our little place with sometimes up to 20 people, all cooking, setting, clearing, helping, etc.

By noon on Sundays, everyone was gone and the mess went with them. Man, we used to have such good times. :)

FYI, milk crates made damned good furniture.:o;)

watsonsh 09-18-2009 09:21 PM

Dangit Woman where are my flipping pancakes? :Starvin:

And can I get em special order with choccy chips not bluberries

Now that brings back memories for me. One of the first dishes we made in home economics in high school was chocolate chip pancakes. I rarely ate breakfast or much for lunch back then so I remember them being so-ooooooo delicious, lol. :winky:

Riverwild 09-19-2009 04:24 PM

(or is this just another way to get people gabbling? I want PANCAKES NOW!)

((i just woke up and i hafta go to work and I do NOT want PB&J again!))

(((where's Yabbit and her report card? I wanna know how she did bartending!)))

:D

DM 09-19-2009 06:46 PM

Just don't mention ''sausage'' :vomit: pancakes!! Last time AMN and I talked about pancakes, she had a lightbulb moment and wondered about them...

Please mind~ erase said memory. :smileypray:

I'll be over in the morn for blueberry..... :Starvin:

Oh and there will no SMACKIN of DM, unless said mentioned DM is around to reciprocate.

SMACK

legzzalot 09-19-2009 07:26 PM

There's a pancake pan??? My sister got me the waffle iron during my Mickey Mouse decorating frenzy, now I want the pan too!

Oooooooh, Sisssssssssyyyyy......

Kitty 09-19-2009 08:49 PM

Neat tip: If you want perfect pancakes buy one of those plastic ketchup containers like you'd see on a picnic table (with the pointy plastic spout). Fill it with pancake batter and you can easily make any size pancake you want without spilling batter all over the griddle or counter. You might have to snip off the tip of the spout to make the opening a little larger for the thicker batter. For me, this works better than a measuring cup or ladle. :)

Oh there is a pan! It is actually an egg pan but does great for pancakes. Had a pooh bear waffle iron but it mysteriously disappeared the last time we moved, along with my 500 ft ethernet cable. Apparently they decided to run away and elope!

Hey kitty great idea!

So, let me see, I have to pour batter into a little bottle to save myself from a mess. Okay, so, I have to gunk up a funnel, own a dedicated bottle that also has to be cleaned, and how do I keep the drips from happening when I have to pour batter 5 times into the little bottle, then remove a goopy funnel that will get crusty if I don't rinse it between fills, plus there's the goopy lid...?

Thanks, but no thanks, I'm brave, I'll wipe that counter come hell or high water!

If you use a mixing bowl with a handle and a pouring lip, a spatula flick after a pour saves the day every time! ;)
