Tiger woods

http://golf.fanhouse.com/2009/11/27/...n-car-crash%2F

Well that's odd. How can you back an Escalade out of your driveway, hit a fire hydrant and a tree and end up in serious condition? Must be some driveway, if he could get going that fast. And he did this when he wasn't drinking? Really?

The news... it get stranger all the time.

Chemar 11-27-2009 09:48 PM

he lives in an area here (Isleworth/Windermere) that has ginormous mega million $ mansions and yup, often very looong driveways...

but

still a very odd incident IMHO

SallyC 11-27-2009 10:02 PM

His wife used a golf club to free him...LOL!!!!

I hope he will be ok..

Dejibo 11-28-2009 06:51 AM

where was he going at 2:30 AM!?! Why was his wife awake at that hour, to even know he was at the bottom of that long driveway? Where did she get the golf club from, if they were not able to open the car? Was she chasing him down the driveway to start with to smack the crap out of him? is that why is was driving away at such quick speeds that he couldnt turn BEFORE headed down a steep winding drive?

Ah, the games rich people play.

I am glad that he is ok, but you just know there is more to this story.

Hockey 11-28-2009 08:34 AM

The latest news reports say that police are considering charging him. The insinuation was that alcohol was involved. I'll wait for the facts.

It sounds like he crashed his vehicle into the tree with some force. It's pretty hard to do that without joining us in the TBI club. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy (and she's a real b#^*@h) so I hope, whatever the circumstances, that Tiger makes a full recovery. (Although, if he was driving drunk, I thank God he didn't make it onto a public roadway.)

Cheers

wkikta 11-28-2009 10:14 AM

Down hill? It is Orlando, I don't think they have much of any hills there.

braingonebad 11-28-2009 10:18 AM

Yeah, pretty ritzy neighborhood, was what I was thinking. Even so, that's a big vehicle to smash it that badly. In all wealthy areas it's not uncommon to have a late life style, but it seems unusual for an althlete.

It just sounds like a lot of the info is private, like we'll never hear what was the story behind the story.

The irony of the golf club, lol. I wonder if he was inside the car yelling, No, not the putter!

mrsD 11-28-2009 10:29 AM

His temper is getting the best of him! IMO I feel so sad when I see him having tantrums on the courses...etc. Golf can be a very frustrating sport...I used to play it... and it ceased to be fun and I quit.

Anger and cars are a bad combo.

Chemar 11-28-2009 10:32 AM

do remember this happened early morning Friday ie after Thanksgiving day celebrations. They may have had a party at their home or have come back from a party kwim:rolleyes:

or maybe he was headed to a Black Friday sale ;)

our local news are still saying tho that alcohol was not a factor.....

also
lol dejibo I had to giggle at the "steep driveway" comment....this is flat Florida swamp ...... only steep here is the price of those mansions :D

braingonebad 11-28-2009 10:37 AM

Hey, he can afford a hill, if he wanted one.

:D

I'm LOL at him going out to a BFS. Now that's funneh!

What MAN does that? That would be weird even for Florida.

:o

Debbie D 11-28-2009 01:21 PM

Okay, let's play "Guess what really happened to Tiger Woods?" I love guessing games, don't you?
I guess that he and his DW had a brawl, he got in his car, she hit the window with a golf club as he drove off, and he hit the hydrant and tree on purpose. I also guess that they didn't call the police for several hours so that he could detox and they could come up with a logical story.
You have said it right-we'll never know the truth. And in reality, do we really need to? I don't think I'd want the problems that comes with wealth...just the money:o

Chemar 11-28-2009 01:26 PM

well debbie seems you are pretty close with your guess

You guys are funny. Here's my take. His wife caught him talking to another woman and they had an argument. He ran out the door and jumped in the car. She's standing in front of the car as he tries to get away. He's dodging her and almost hits her as the car careens into a tree.

She runs back to the house to call 911 but decides to grab the trophy golf club instead. She runs out and tells him to get back in the house or she'll bust his windows. He laughs at her and says "Oh yeah? Watch this wench!" and backs up to drive off but instead hits the hydrant. In the meantime, that girl he was talking to jumps out of the trunk he hid her in and busts his windows with the trophy golf club his wife dropped on the ground. She stands with hands on hip and says "You'll never get anymore of this while she's still around!"

Tiger and his wife are shocked. She's shocked the girl was hidden in his car, Tiger is shocked she jumped out. Both women beat him while he's down.

The rest is a mystery. :D

Kitty 11-28-2009 01:37 PM

Just goes to show that wealth and being a celebrity don't automatically make your life a bed of roses.

I'd love to prove them wrong, though! Just let me have the $$ Tiger has and I'll make it last forever.....and even help some folks along the way. I don't have to worry about a lyin', cheatin' husband. And I promise not to hit anybody's car with a putter! :p

Maybe she needs to call "Cheaters" and have them follow him around. In all seriousness, though, infidelity is not funny and I have numerous friends who've been a victim of it. :(

Blessings2You 11-28-2009 03:02 PM

Maybe he was hurrying to a store to pick up ginger ale for one of the kids with a sick tummy, and an alligator ran out in front of him and he swerved to miss it. I want this to have a "happy" ending.

Earl 11-28-2009 03:38 PM

I am glad he is ok. Makes me wonder if the OnStar went off? Isn't it supposed to go off in any collision?

Maybe it was the OnStar lady that he was flirting with! :D

kicker 11-28-2009 04:00 PM

Our GPS lady sounds nice. We use the one with an English accent.

Erin524 11-28-2009 04:36 PM

I read his airbags didnt deploy, because he was going less than 35mph when he hit the tree.

I just saw the pictures of the car, and the way the tire is all mangled, makes me think he needs to have a chat with Cadillac about the airbags not deploying. If that's really his car in the pictures (I dont really trust the Huffington Post or TMZ.com...or the Enquirer story that's claiming he was having an affair with someone in NYC) It just looks to me to be more damage than what you would expect on an Escalade going less than 35mph.

He could just be a really bad driver. That's probably why rich people get limos and chauffers. (did I spell "chauffers" right? Only french words I can spell correctly is "crochet"...and "tricot" which is french for "knit)

SallyC 11-29-2009 02:43 PM

I wonder if Tiger's putter is feeling any better. :D:cool:

whispers 11-29-2009 05:16 PM

What I don't get is the golf club! Wouldn't it have been easier to get the other key to the car to open it? That would have been my first thought. A club? Ouch! What if fragments of glass hit the wounded driver? Why did the wife get him out of the car if he was unconscious and bleeding? How strong is she? Was it a good idea to move an injured person without taking the right precautions?:eek::eek::eek: I guess we will never know how the minds of the rich work!

Erin524 11-29-2009 11:52 PM

after reading more about this, and hearing the story that his wife gave to the cops...I'm starting to lean towards the theory that she smashed the window with the golf club and that's what caused the accident. (she was probably chasing him thru the house with the club, he got to the car to try to get away and she smashed the window, which caused him to careen out of control into the hydrant and tree.)

If it's true that he was screwing around on his wife, I'm surprised she didnt kill him immediately. He better hide the golf clubs from the wife.

mrsD 11-30-2009 09:07 AM

Yes, I don't buy the story of her breaking the window to get him out. He is huge and she is tiny....

I think he is trying to cover for her assault. I think also like others here that it was a domestic incident, and she smashed the window of the car as he drove away.

Anger and cars don't mix.

Earl 11-30-2009 11:15 AM

Let's get to the important part of they story, WHY WAS HE DRIVING A CADDY WHEN HE ENDORSES BUCIK? What a smack to Buick that he wrecked a Caddy instead of a Buick, I think that's the important question to ask.

Smartly, he chose not to wreck the Buick..:D

Erin524 11-30-2009 01:22 PM

Do you think Buick will sue him for not driving (and crashing) a Buick?

Maybe his wife hid the keys to the Buick and he had to take the Escalade???

Or, maybe in a fit of rage, she used the golf club to beat the Buick into submission, and he saw her wrecking that car and got scared and ran off in the Escalade, she saw him and launched the golf club at the car?

mrsD 11-30-2009 01:42 PM

He could have been better off just running down the street.
I bet he could outrun her easily with those long legs.

SallyC 11-30-2009 03:18 PM

Whatever happened, he thinks he got what he deserved..:D

kicker 11-30-2009 03:24 PM

I am not a doctor and all my medical training is from doctor shows, but had his wife embedded the club in his head or elsewhere, I know you should never pull items out as wound might really BLEED.

Debbie D 11-30-2009 04:13 PM

Man, there's a lot of stuff flying around about this story...two sports guys on WGN radio(two reputable guys, not the loudmouth louts that one usually hears) were talking about things that they heard from their sources...one of the guys was told by a source that Tiger told the source that Tiger had to do a Kobe Bryant for his wife...meaning he had to get an obscene gift as an "I'm sorry"...
it's a sad story, for sure...they're all human, ya know...

Dejibo 11-30-2009 05:47 PM

a very private man, in a very public scene. it cant be fun to be at his house right now. :(

SandyC 11-30-2009 06:54 PM

I told my aunt about it. She used to waitress at the golf club up here. She used to serve Tiger and his wife. She said he reaps what he sows. She said he never tipped and was rude. lol

Hee hee hee! So, who is this other woman? Remember, he's only "human."

And I agree.

;)

I'd bet she did smash the windows and that's what caused the crash. That they were up late, fighting either over the rumors or that the affair actually did happen. Although YUCK, money and fame aside, he's lucky any woman would give him the time of day. Whiney, spoiled little worm.

And I wouldn't blame her.

I don't have any golf clubs around - not fit enough to swing like his missus could. But still can shoot. Heck hath no fury, lol.

You know, I could take being told he wanted out, he wanted to be with someone else. Tell me I'm too old, too fat, mean and ugly, whatever. But be a man. Be man enough to say it. I really can't handle when they're not man enough to be honest. Even I have the backbone enough to face the music.

Kitt 12-01-2009 10:28 AM

I wonder what that neighbor who called in the accident is now going to say "thru their lawyer". What was he (neighbor's son called it in they think) doing up at that time or was it all so loud that he got up? It will be interesting.

Jules A 12-01-2009 02:42 PM

Only human? Sheesh, if my DH ever decides to be only human with someone else he better pack the hefty bags cause he ain't leaving with the good luggage.

Kitt 12-01-2009 06:59 PM

I just heard on the nightly news that he was charged with careless driving which is what it should be. The rest is all speculation and I bet there is a story there.

Debbie D 12-02-2009 01:04 PM

Sheesh...more trash out this morning...a different girl released a voicemail of Tiger asking her to take her name off of her phone message, because Tiger's wife went through his phone address book...
too, too sad...lots of people are gossiping about what a cold guy he is...when other golfers go over and sign autographs and talk to kids, he walks right by his fans...
we all have to learn not to put others up on pedestals...they go to the bathroom like everyone else, ya know;)

Kitty 12-02-2009 01:17 PM

I heard that, too, Debbie. It's sad that it happened. I have several friends who have gone through the "did he....didn't he" thing with their DH's and I do not envy them. I'll never understand why men do these things. And women do them, too. Just not as often as men.....either that or they're smarter about covering their tracks so they don't get caught!

I'm sure these women who've "come forward" are looking for a nice paycheck for their troubles.

I've never liked Tiger. He's a whiny little thing who has no personality. His true colors are finally showing through....and they aren't very pretty.
