David Goldman is FINALLY getting his son back
If you have been watching this story on the news, you probably know, but David Goldman, a man who has been fighting for 5 years for custody of his son (who was living in Brazille) is FINALLY getting his son back, I can't wait to see The Today Show do a story on it, and hopefully all goes well, apparently, they are doing the hand off as I type this.
David Goldman has made over 14 trips to Rio De Jenero to get his son over the past 5 years, it is wonderful that he is getting him home on Christmas Eve. Joy to the world. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,580931,00.html |
I can't help thinking if Mr. Goldman wins, doesn't Mrs. Goldman lose? Not following story, is there one?

I am so happy for him.:)

Did some research, see his mom was dead, step-father and maternal side of family trying to keeo him. He belongs with his dad. Good ending.

Ummm, guess I've been living in a cave -- haven't followed that story. Sounds like a happy ending, though.
BUT, when you gonna post that RainMan (Kim Peek) died? I mean, its your calling at NT, right? :p |
Me???? Isn't Earl in charge of deaths?

I saw the reunion on the Today Show this morning...the stepfather made good on his threat to make it a media circus...the boy was clinging to him and crying.
So much for the step family's concern for the boy. I don't blame the father for wanting his son...but it must be so difficult for the boy...he hasn't seen his dad for 5 years, and only knows his stepfamily as his true family. I was so upset by the coverage on the Today Show that I had to turn it off...:( |
Unfortunately, the children are usually the ones who take the hardest hit in these types of situations. I'm happy for the Dad, as I believe he truly has his son's best interest at heart and I cannot imagine being separated from my children (involuntarily). The step family could have done alot to help this child adjust to meeting and ultimately going home with his real father. They're only concerned with their own agenda and it's very apparent when you watch the stepfather and his actions. :( Merry Christmas? For who?

I hope this is a happy ending and beginning for Father and Son. :)

I always have mixed feelings about these situations. This child is being taken from the only family he has known for a majority of his life. There are no winners imo.

I too, have been following this story for years and was glad to see father & son reunited. The Father/David never gave up and actually had a good relationship w/his son/Sean. The Mother went to Brazil to visit relatives, divorced David and then died during Sean's birth.
As said, David had made many trips to Brazil and I truly feel the media circus that the Brazilian family put that boy through was totally selfish and just plain wrong. Moral of the story ~ Never give up...:) |
If they would have given the boy up and let his father have him years ago, it would have been so much better. That was five years ago I believe. The father never gave up and I cannot blame him. I'm glad he has him back and if the media would leave them alone it would be that much better. IMO
