Do You Make New Years Resolutions?

I used to but always felt bad when I wasn't successful or just plain didn't keep them. I don't make them now. Throughout the year I do strive to improve myself and my life......but that's an ongoing battle that doesn't recognize the ending and beginning of years.

What about you? Do you make resolutions? :)

Riverwild 12-27-2009 08:11 AM

Nope.

:p

Blessings2You 12-27-2009 08:36 AM

I used to, but I used to put teeth under my pillow and wish on stars, also.

Now I set "goals" instead. The implication is that you aim for it with optimism and good intentions, while realizing that life happens.

Excellent suggestion, B2Y! :)

Yes the same resolution I have mde for the last 8 years... not to make any resolutions and continue on doing what I can to make mself and my world better.

Dejibo 12-27-2009 10:05 AM

I used to make them every year, and every year I beat myself up because I wasnt able to meet my own goal. I chose about ten years ago to make a resolution to not make anymore resolutions. I have been able to keep that one!

Vonn07 12-27-2009 11:19 AM

I just wrote them down the other day! now I lost the list!! LOL

hmm - but, mostly like everyone else has said ... I work at doing my best everyday thru-out the year .. try to make a difference one day at a time ... and think positive ..

SallyC 12-27-2009 12:24 PM

What River said..:D

Kitt 12-27-2009 01:24 PM

No, I don't:)

Earl 12-27-2009 01:30 PM

nope, just try to live a good clean life, and not regret what I may have done or not done the year prior.

kicker 12-27-2009 01:37 PM

No. New Year's resolutions seem made to be broken. Change is ongoing, not once a year. If it pops up and needs fixing, who cares about the date.

DM 12-27-2009 03:08 PM

No way! I don't like change unless it's silver and I have LOTS of it.

SandyC 12-27-2009 05:00 PM

Nope. Haven't got time for change. lol

No don't make any new resolutions. The old ones are just great.
Even when I did years ago, never kept them, always went back to being
the old self.

THE ONLY CHANGE I WISH COULD BE MADE FOR ME AND ALL OF
MY NT FRIENDS IS,
"A CURE IS FOUND"

I am making one now. I will never never do that again!! Legz had way to much to drink and then someone decided to put her in a car for a 45 mile trip home. Legz remembered that she gets motion sick when drunk....

Resolution.... never to do that again!

sabimax 01-01-2010 09:01 AM

lol at Legz, sorry too funny!!

I am like many here, do not really make one, just like people with diets, always say I will start on Monday... well if you really wanted to lose weight and start you would do it NOW hehe not Monday!!

I do make goals as someone mentioned, less focus on my pain, (or at least talking so much about it at times), getting more yoga into life as it helps that pain...

well enough on that stuff... I want to be in the group of PIRATE talking girls!! argggggg hugsss all, sarah

Vonn07 01-01-2010 11:39 AM

I started my weight-loss program yesterday ... and STUCK to it all day .. and even today already!!

my NY resolutions may be biting off a bit too much .. but, going to take it one day at a time .. and make the best out of everyday ...

thanks to you for sticking with me these last 2.5 years .. I can hardly believe that my 3 yr dx will be in April already!!

Happy New Year!! there's a reason why we are here .. and on NT ... that's a resolution that everyone here is happy about!!;)

Kitty 01-01-2010 02:47 PM

I think my resolution this year will be to just take things one day at a time. Try not to look farther than that. Worrying about what the future holds doesn't help change it or make it better. It just wears me out. So, I'm really going to try to just concentrate on making today the best I can make it.....doing the best I can today.
