Virtual New Year's Eve Party

A lot of us can't get out on New Year's Eve - but that doesn't mean we have to ring in 2010 alone.

I know we span the globe and a multitude of time zones, but please stop into the chat room whenever you can to extend best wishes to other members. I'm going to put on a silly hat and try and stay up a bit past my 7:30 bedtime to celebrate with some of my most favourite people.

Cheers:partytime2:

I'll bring the Asti Spumanti. Just got 2 bottles for Christmas. It's on ice, as we speak.:D

What a great idea and it shows great minds think alike - I was thinking of this same thing but am a bit slow in posting it obviously!

I am celebrating New Years Eve all alone tonight and LOVING it. My DD is going to a friend's overnight and my DH is working. I have some wine in the fridge, a good book, and there's a bunch of good movies on tonight. Now if I could just get rid of the family...

I hope everyone has a wonderful time celebrating and ringing in the new year. No matter how you do it, enjoy!!!!

Virtual New Year's Eve Party

Happy New Years from New Orleans LA

Can I join in the fun?
I’m spending the holiday alone except of course for my computer friends.

I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

Happy new year, everyone! Many blessings to all of us in 2010!

I'm skipping the party as well and have opted for a quiet night by myself. I might just play a little Liquorama in the solo division. ;)

AAARRRGGGHHHH! Instead of retiring to my warm bed with some Glue Wein (warmed, mulled wine) DH has invited 5 over spur of moment and is making an antipasta salad, wings for hot wings and shrimp to dip in cocktail sauce (and Gluh Wein of course). Me stay up to Midnight?? HA, I say. (Gee whiz, I put pants on, what more do they want??)

There was a really great show on one of the Science channels today showing how they make the fireworks....it was amazing!

Gives one a new appreciation for them, and understanding how dangerous they are, and how dangerous they are to make!

karousel 12-31-2009 07:36 PM

mrsD I would have loved to see that! Must have been very interesting to see.

Family is gone...putting on my party hat.

Happy New year to all. It's been New Years day for quite a few hours now here in my part of Aus!
We didn't need to have fireworks to celebrate here, we had our own thunder and lightning show from 10pm until after midnight...it was a pretty big storm! lol
Not that I stayed up late...I didn't! But I was lying in bed while the storm was making plenty of light and noise, and I couldn't sleep anyway because it was so hot and humid!
But now, it's a new day, a new year, and a little bit cooler!:D

DH and I shot off some dynamite sticks in the backyard after he emptied the shotgun shells into the air. (We get so much surplus you know.) Now we're working on our third case of Falstaff. Ah, New Year's Eve, it's such a festive day for us.

soooooo

did ya all party:D

hubby and I were empty nesters for the first time in 23 years, so we celebrated the end of 2009 with his favorite meal of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, peas 'n gravy, and toasted the coming new year in with our cocoa;)
We got Happy New Year texts from son's at midnite......tho I confess I was asleep already while watching the TV when the clock struck and the ball dropped:o

our neighborhood sure was hoppin' tho with fireworks starting as soon as it got dark and continuing till around 1 am....cats took up residence in closets till it was all over!I was so tired I managed to doze thru most of it:winky:

Wishing everyone a Happy, healthier, peaceful and more prosperous 2010:grouphug:

I hope you all know I was joking a bit there. My biggest event last night was having a couple glasses of champagne while DH dozed in his chair. Sometimes it's hard to tell when I'm kidding. ;) We don't even have any dynamite. :D (Anymore. Since the accident.)
