Congratulations to SallyC

Tobacco-free for a whole year now!

Phew! *wiping forehead* That nasty spitting habit was really gross! ;)

kicker 02-10-2010 05:07 PM

Sal- She's kidding about the spitting, right?

Kitty 02-10-2010 05:13 PM

When I first read Cindy's post I read it as "taco-free" and wondered what Sally has against taco's. :o Then I read it again and got it right. Congratulations, Sally! That's quite an accomplishment! :)

Dejibo 02-10-2010 06:53 PM

Congrat Sal Pal.

I quit way back when cigs went up to a dollar a pack!

I quit "cold turkey" and it was the worst experience of my life! I know what drug addicts go through and it is awful.

I was so mean even the dog hid from me!!:(

I still miss smoking and so many of my friends still smoke.

I would never ask them to quit but I will offer to stay away from them if they do.

At least for awhile.:p

Way to go Salpal!!! Just think of all the moolah you've saved. Uh, can I have a loan?? :)

SallyC 02-10-2010 07:36 PM

Thanks, Cincin and all. Because I am still going through the motions and still being able to enjoy an e-cig by vaping a little nicotine, I don't miss it a bit and still have a full carton of my old ciggys on the desk, unopened, since last February.

I feel better, I'm breathing better and right now I have a nasty cold and notice that I'm not hacking as much as when I was smoking tobacco. my house is cleaner and smells better, too. :D

I recommend the vaping, if you enjoy a cigarette but not the tobacco smoke.:grouphug:

Blessings2You 02-10-2010 08:10 PM

Good job Sal!:)

Debbie D 02-11-2010 10:03 AM

Kitty, you da bomb!! You're so funny!!:D

Sal, congratulations. I know it's hard...after 19 years I still get an occasional craving, but I just won't destroy my body by sucking on those cancer sticks...

And now the news is reporting that third-hand smoke, that found in clothing and furniture, can also cause cancer:eek: The stuff is just so toxic...

kicker 02-11-2010 10:10 AM

Go Sally. I watched my Mom die of lung cancer after her lifetime of smoking unfiltered cigarettes. I often employed re-telling the agony of her death to my usually low economic, emotionally disturbed teen students to get them to not/or stop smoking. Way to go Sally!!!

SallyC 02-11-2010 10:55 AM

Just to let you know, I am not now, on a campagne for everyone to quit smoking. I think that the facttoid of smoking causing cancer is grossly overrated. Sure it probably can but so can the air we breath, food we eat and the water we drink!!!

I just got tired of the smelly dirty smokey residue, tobacco left on everthing in the house.

BTW, my DMom also died of lung cancer, she smoked. DDIL, also died of lung cancer, at age 36, and she was a non smoker.

Jappy 02-11-2010 05:28 PM
