Spring is Here . . .

I was sitting outside earlier and it is beautiful out - sunny and upper 60s/low 70s. Now before you all start throwing snowballs at me . . .remember spring comes here 1st and then heads your way. It's coming soon!

barb02 02-16-2010 02:31 PM

Thanks, I think:rolleyes:. Right now it is 26 degrees here, with a wind chill of 15. Hmmm -- I think I am going to have to throw a few snowballs your way:D

tkrik 02-16-2010 02:37 PM

It'll melt on the way over here, Barb. LOL No snowball can touch me.

Seriously, it was a warm thought for all of you in the cold weather. Plus, by the time your spring hits, I will be melting. I want perpetual spring with weather similar to today.:p

Aarcyn 02-16-2010 02:48 PM

It was really beautiful in Phoenix too. I was in the backyard moving rocks around, thinking of things to plant.

I was not going to say anything but Tricia, you got guts!:D

LOL. It really was meant to be a warm happy thought not a rub in anyone's face, nananana thought. Besides, Cyn we only have what 2 months a year of this type of weather. Gotta enjoy it while we can.

I was at DBF's this past weekend thinking of what to plant in his planter in the backyard. I thinking succulants and lantanas and bougainvillea's. Should look pretty. :p

Kitty 02-16-2010 02:55 PM

Tricia.........can you come over here a minute........http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/k.../slingshot.gif

:D

Sure Ms. Kitty! I'll be right there as soon as I am done tanning in the sun.:D

tkrik 02-16-2010 02:58 PM

Hey wait, Kelly, your weather will be changing really soon too! Didn't you say it may be in the 60s by the weekend. That's nice weather.

gonnamakeit 02-16-2010 03:04 PM

The sky is a clear beautiful blue today and I was thinking how terrific it is to see sun and not snow.

One thing about summer is we don't have to pay to heat our hot water!

oh PULLLEEESSSE! I am just trying to share the warmth with all of you in the colder parts of the country. :D

Think of basking in the warmth of the sun and listening to the birds chirp away, the wind blowing the trees creating that soft rustling sound that is so calming, seeing the beautiful colors of spring all around you. Mental imagery is so good for you. :p

Yeah!!

My son in Ohio just called and they have 21 inches of snow on the ground!!

Made me cold just thinking about it. Glad we are in AZ now.

I love lantanas, no fuss and pretty flowers. My hummingbirds love them too.

I am thinking of adding a few flowering cacti. My neighbor has ones that bloom purple from Spring through Summer. She said she would give me a hunk to stick in the ground.

I also want to plant a few agaves.

This weather makes me want to take a pick and have DH go after the hard dirt to create a hole for plants!

Ah, desert living at its best!

All the windows are open, perfect day.

We think 80 is hot hot hot here. We do 75 and sunny in our neck of the woods. a light breeze, and the smell of honeysuckle on the wind.

That nice weather doesnt last long here tho. :(

tkrik 02-16-2010 06:33 PM

Cyn - A few weeks ago, after all that rain, we weeded out the flower bed in DBF's backyard. The soil was moist enough that weeding was so easy. That's where I am going to plant the lantanas and bougainvilleas. I'm also going to put some wild flowers in there as well.

Barb - You are reading this for those nice warm thoughts of spring to help brighten your day.

Kelly - LOL I know you all will be paying me back during the summer. But we have a dry heat. :D

Sally - Head out west. The weather is great right now.

Dej - Oh my goodness! That sounds wonderful. But you too are like us, it doesn't last too long. By the end of March beginning of April he!! begins to set in and lasts until around October/November.:(

RedPenguins 02-16-2010 07:23 PM

Well, I must admit - I'm feeling a bit "guilty" too - it is a BEAUTIFUL, unusual, yet outstanding 83 degrees here. <<Quick....ducking down to avoid snowballs being thrown at me>>

On the downside, the price for this: it will probably rain all of next week. And of course, come August, it's 110 degrees for days/weeks on end.

But for now...my 3.5yo is wondering if we can go to the beach. Sadly, I've been stuck inside working all day :( Waaaaa. See - we don't get "snow days" off here!

Oh her. She is the reason you all aren't having nice spring weather. She scared Mother Nature and threw her in to a tizzy.

Debbie D 02-16-2010 10:28 PM

Wow!! Who hijacked the thread? Oh, it's that lady that likes to make us popsicles jealous...
now, to start over, T, I was picking on Kelly...not you, silly!!

I appreciate your imagery...but it is so difficult to imagine green and warm breezes when you see your pond frozen and snow all over the place...

but I do look forward to the bulbs blooming, and the lilacs outside my front door blooming, and the crab with it's fragrant pink flowers bursting...okay, I get the picture...spring...aahhh...

Twinkletoes 02-17-2010 02:34 AM

Check out Menopause Barbie

legzzalot 02-17-2010 05:25 AM

it's official. Let's all go. New rule; MS Dx means we all need to move out west! She says as she looks outside and sees the two feet of snow in the yard...

tkrik 02-17-2010 09:23 AM

Debbie - See! Now you have the idea.;) Think Spring!

Twink - Those are funny. :D Barbie would definitely be somewhere in the menopausal stage now. I mean, seriously, she was born in what 1957 making her about 53 years old.:p

Legz - Yup! Hop on the MS BuS and head west. :D Then in the summer the bus will either head way north or off to San Diego for perfect weather. Because no MSer should be hanging out in 100+ degree weather - dry or humid. San Diego does have perfect weather all year long.

Kitty 02-17-2010 11:19 AM

Now everyone knows Barbie has cankles!!

Debbie D 02-17-2010 02:00 PM

Prozac Barbie... Looks a lot like my sister... hmmmmm?

tkrik 02-17-2010 02:45 PM

Apparently, Prozac Barbie's Prozac is not working. Her lack of grooming clearly shows that. LOL
