I took Lunest at 3:30 and tried to stay up.

I feel like was absent the day we were taught how to go to sleep.

Such a moron.

Still awake.
3 mgs of Lunesta work well. I got very sleepy.
I got on facebook and fought through the sleepiness. :(

Cleaning lady has to be here at 3:00 pm HA!

I'll be sleeping in the afternoon when she gets here. I'll tell her to let me nap.
She's going to chat and talk and talk talk..
I wonder if the Lunesta will cause a hangover from not getting enough sleep????????

I need some pills to teach me to sleep.

M.

Mari 03-08-2010 08:34 AM

This Lunesta tastes awful

I think I heard on the web somewhere that the taste goes a way in a few weeks.
I sure could use some sleep.
M.

mymorgy 03-08-2010 08:42 AM

no pills have worked for me Mari...i totally emphasize with you.......
bobby

Mari 03-08-2010 09:03 AM

Thanks, Bobby

It costs more than my usual meds.

I will give it a few more nights before I give up.

I see the tdoc on Fri. For a very long time, she has been encouraging me to talk to the pdoc seriously about sleep.

I'll see what she has to say.

bizi 03-08-2010 10:48 AM

I am confused, did you get any sleep this weekend?
this sounds very frustrating.
I am sorry about your sleep issues.
bizi
ambien worked better for me than lunesta,
in both cases you have to make yourself go to bed while you aresleepy,
and that is the problem.

Dear Bizi,
I don't like to go to bed so this whole thing about taking pills is pretty useless.

Mari
I am wondering if you did say something different than thinking of it as
going to sleep. Like if you sat in a recliner instead of laying in the bed.
Or laid on the couch, if you could just drift off.

Donna:grouphug:

Abbie 03-08-2010 07:38 PM

I'm confused...

You took Lunesta and then forced yourself to stay awake even though you grew tired/sleepy ?????

I undertand not wanting to and/or feeling fearful of falling asleep...
But why take a medicine to help you sleep and then fight it???

Abbie

Mari 03-08-2010 11:09 PM

Hi, Abbie,

I got the medicine from the pdoc because the tdoc says I need more sleep.

I don't like to go to bed. It's sort of a phobia.

Dear Donna,
Chairs and sofas and floors work.
That's what I used to do.
Then pdoc said it is very important to wear the cpap machine when I am sleeping. He made everything more complicated.

I could set up the cpap near the sofa. It might work but it has problems too.

Abbie 03-09-2010 01:29 AM

Ah... I see and COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND....

I'm sorry :(... I forgot that you and I are alike on this... I too HATE and am AFRAID to fall asleep.

I often go many days with little to no sleep---last was 23 days with like this.... sleeping no more than 20 minutes a night if at all.

The past couple of days.... I've been sleeping about 20 hours a day.

Today seems like back to the same old same.... 1:29am and still WIDE AWAKE!

I hope you find something that works for you... not sleeping or little sleep is killer....

Dear Abbie,
Being able to sleep is so important to everything else in our bodies / brains.
I wish it were easier.
I hope you get good sleep tonight.

Mari I know what you mean. I have a good bed,but I sleep in the room where I have a large TV,and a large sofa. I've been sleeping this way for awhile.

I remember that I use to grab the sofa with one of my hands before I would go to sleep. I can't explain this. It was general fear, and anxiety. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Mari 03-09-2010 05:16 AM

Dear Steve,
Thanks.
Anxiety interferes with sleep and that interferes with everything else.
M.

mymorgy 03-09-2010 07:30 AM

Steve's post made me think of something. Did you ever have nightmares? I sometimes have nightmares and there have been periods of my life that I have been afraid to sleep. Last night I had a nightmare about running out of money. I also have had periods of not having sleep disorders and then if there is a war or when my father died, i started having them again. the war thing I think was an attempt at control. I would watch the tv for the latest news....cnn.

I don't have a problem with nightmares. It's worry, anxiety, and intrusive thoughts. These intrusive thoughts have thrown me into mental tailspins, and headtrips. They grip me,and I can't help it. After a while they fade away. I hate this. If I have one intrusive thought,I'll have 2,or 3 more soon after.

At one time when I first woke up,I had panic attacks. This waking up to panic hasn't happened in a long time. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Abbie 03-09-2010 11:08 PM

If and When I fall asleep... EVERYTIME I wake up I am in a PANIC!!!

My Pdoc just switched up my xanax dosages... from 1mg twice a day to .5 mg four times a day... He told me that xanax only stays in the body for 4 hours no matter the dosage.

No wonder anxiety and panic have been hitting me like a rubber ball bouncing around... we'll see how the four times a day thing goes....

Hopefully "IF" I remember when I go back to the Pdoc... I will talk to him about this panic when waking.

:o
Abbie

Mari 03-09-2010 11:13 PM

Dear Bobby,

I do not have nightmares.
I might have had them in the past.
I've learned to forget about my dreams before I even get out of bed.

bizi 03-09-2010 11:26 PM

Dear Abby,
ask to switch over to klonipin...it last longer so you don't have the peaks and troughs....vallium lasts the longest so less of highs and lows and more even keal...see if your pdoc whould switch you to vallium. jsut ask about it. It has a very long half life xanax has the shortest the highest highs only meant for short term use.
hopes this makes sense.
I don't like xanax for long term usage unless you only take it at night to sleep....jsut my opinion.
bizi

Abbie 03-10-2010 01:34 AM

I was on klonopin but it does nothing for my anxiety/panic... only makes me a little sleepy.... I still wake up in a panic.

Right now... doesn't feel like any of my meds are working... either I'm awake and a complete mess... or I sleep ALL the time. Pdoc says I'm in a downward slide....

I have new scripts that need filled and I haven't been able to leave the house.... Panic/Anxiety/Severe Depression... you get the picture...

:(

Xanax is the number one treatment for Phobias, and Panic attacks. It's has been for years as far as I know. Other then Xanax,I don't think that they know what to do. I take just .5 Mg's less then you do. I take Xanax, and the other medicines four times a day.

They are careful about the Class III,and Class IV sedatives now,and give anti-phychotic medicine as sleeping pills now. That is what it seems like they are doing.

The seroquel still has me in a tired, calm, dorment state when I wake up in the morning. Then I take the Xanax, and Luvox. I don't take the seroquel until before bed. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Dear Abbie,

I hear you.
I wish I had delivery for my meds.
Maybe you have delivery where you live?

M.

Abbie 03-10-2010 01:59 AM

1st... Sorry Mari... didn't mean to hi-jack your thread...

I take Seroquel and 15mg Remeron at bed... Xanax 4 times a day... Cymbalta in the morning (Was taking Zoloft 150mg--Pdoc said this just isn't working)

.... along with other meds for RSD.

:(
I don't think anything is working... like my body is just passing everything right through with no or very little absorbtion....

:(

Brokenfriend 03-10-2010 03:10 AM

Abbie I've never heard of remeron. I hope that it helps. These problems are so complicated.

I'm not always calm in the morning. I have obsessive tormenting thoughts sometimes before I get up.

I sometimes hate to see light, and day. Things seem distorted at that time. I don't know how to define those thoughts, and feelings. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Dear Friend,
Has any pdoc given you some major huge meds that work on anxiety?
I'm sorry you suffer.

Remeron is an antidepressant... Pdoc gave it to me to help me sleep... Seroquel alone won't do it----if I don't take these...I will NOT fall asleep... and even with I often do not fall asleep for very long.

I completely understand what your are saying...no need to define.

I know many who take remeron for sleep issues. And depression.

The Seroquel helps me with the OCD,and helps me to sleep. I was very active, and had hobbies. The side affect is I don't feel like doing anything right now,and I'm loosing my interests. This is probably a form of depression, but It helps with the anxiety a little. I don't know.

Sometimes I sleep about 16 hours. I'm tired all the time. This may be depression, the seroquel, and the other meds. BF:hug::hug::hug:
