Weekend Check in Thread: March 13, 2010 How Are You?

HI,

What's happening?
Does anyone here do anything for St. Patrick's Day on Wed?

I've got paper work to take care of before Monday.
. . . also a hair appt on Saturday.

I think I am going to start doing my yoga DVDs. I had kind of taken a "break" from yoga. I did some earlier tonight and enjoyed it even though I was out of practice.

Hi Mari,

Yoga sounds like something I'd like to do.

I'm not sure what I'll be doing this weekend. Cocky and I will likely do something. I'm waiting to call him this morning as he gets up early but still I don't want to call him this early.

REMEMBER, TIME CHANGE TONIGHT! HOUR AHEAD.

St Patty's Day we will cook corned beef brisket at home and make a cake with green icing.

I am still awake, listening to the rain and wind. Watching the reports on the rising river down town. The heavy snow is melting from the 50* we had the last few days, now several inches of rain here and in NY are swelling the river.
The wind has been howling all day, huge gust. The house is creaking. How are they sleeping through this?

I have a second pt time job, working for an agency doing skip tracing, locating people and property, wellness checks to make sure they are getting meds, checks, any needs or changes. I am making good money, I work about 2 assignments a week.

The estate issues have not resloved. The ex still is adamant for 1/2 of De's estate. She had nothing, but I had a settlement he sued for.So we are going to mediation. I have to meet with the attorney on Tuesday.
But, I am not sleeping, just passing out, from the physical drain and anxiety.
Sleep brings dreams where I am screaming out loud.

Spring is around the corner,
di

I don't know how you do it DiMarie. you are a precious person. be careful of your health and try not to wear yourself down.
i didn't sleep last night again. I got hyper after having the xray

you are an amazing woman di,
I did not realize that you had that much snow in such a short amount of time. 50 inches....OMG can't imagine that and now the thawing and possible flooding. no wonder you can't sleep.

DiMarie 03-13-2010 04:31 PM

Hi Bizi and Bobby,
That is 50 degrees Beth, the snow on the ground was about a foot the beginning of the week. Almost gone now. The rain is just pouring today. The winds finally stopped roaring, but the rain is flying sideways from it,
We had a total of 70 inches of snow this winter. Glad Spring is here next week, Not that we still can't get snow. Three years ago we had over a foot on Valentine's day, another on St. Patricks Day, then again a foot the week after Easter in April......

DH plant never called him back and when he reopened his unemployment the checks dropped to $300 a week, his security pay is not much. So I had to do something. I do enjoy the work. It kills me sitting though. I am out tomorrow looking for a truck from FL that a Mom wants repo'd she cosigned on. So sit and watch for 8 hrs.
Fun playing Nancy Drew though.

It is nice when dh is not working as he can drive and be company. I get so little broken sleep,
Wed. I am do a wellness check on a man in a wheel chair. He said his supplies are over due. So I am making sure he got them this week, verify his address and that it is really him, see if he has any needs. It is a rual gated community, his address is a lot no. so I think that was an issue.
Instead of the post office maybe a FED EX delivery will help.

Even working 2 days a week is a huge help. The first employer has not had local work since October. If he has anything local I will take it.

The attorney for ex, WAS a member of various local organizations I am a member, like our chamber of commerace, it makes me think he can actually have orchestrated this move of the ex when he knew my strugles and what a dead beat dad he was. THe most upsetting, was his covering up my childrens inheritance to the grandfathers estate, but one battle at a time.

I just live in this recliner, dd 14 is cyber school, but so many portfolio projects due right now has us both stressed. When I do sleep I have terrible nightmares. The family has to wake me from screaming.

Katie had one a few nights ago the man from the haunted house was chasing her with an ax.

BUT, I am praying for justice to prevail and know that it is just not always the case for us....

OPPPS, there goes a tree down next door, wires are down. I still have electric though......
Keep me in your thoughts,

blah...

It has been raining and the house is leaking. So the hall way is leaking water. And the Land lord did not really fix anything. And it is still leaking bad And now the water is leaking into the room. My husband and I are looking for new place to live. I am getting a job Monday. My husband wants me to take time to adjust to NY but I believe I am ready.
Yesterday I got tricked by a man at the Landry mat who smeared ketchup on the back of my sweater ( I did not know he did it). And then he said he help me clean it. So he did help a little. But then when I looked in my pocket after he left, I noticed my roll of quarters for the landry were gone. Why did I fall for that trick. sigh... lesson learned welcome to NYC. LOL From now on I carry my money in my bra. And I make sure I am aware of my surroundings. I am so glad I left my wallet and cell phone home.

Dear Di,
I hope that the weather has calmed down by now and that you and your family are safe.

The nightmares sound frightening. I'm sorry that you have to go through that stress. I hope that justice prevails and that you can rest easily.

Sharla I hope that you are safe today and that the landlord does something to help, That is not right to pay rent and have something serious. If the ceiling caved in you could be injured besides the damage to your belongings.

The weather has calmed down, I forgot about setting the kitchen clock and need to hustle out the door by 7 am for that work assignment. Dh is staying with dd, so I am flying, well driving on my own. How I hate that. I just have to do what I have to do...

Will check in when I get back, by then I will need a huge nap. I have been up since 11 pm. I did sleep right when the good shows were coming on at 8pm. I wanted to watch the one about Clark Rockafeller wanna be....

Enjoy your Sunday all.

Di, I've seen the flooding up North on the news down here. I hope you don't lose your current.

Sharla, I've had to start going to the laundry mat since moving and I don't like it so far. I don't know what to do with my pocket book.

Cocky and I had a nice time yesterday and this morning. He really makes me laugh a lot and is so kind and considerate.

Awwww :D

I am glad Cocky is making you laugh. He makes you feel good and that is important. That is really sweet.

About the pocket book, leave that sucker at home and carry your quarters in your bra. That is what I did. LOL I refuse to carry my wallet unless it is empty. I have my money in my bra only. And if anyone talks to me and said I want to help you look it look it just say no thanks. Or that you do not understand them. And then ignore them but be aware.

That Rockerfeller movie looks so good. You should see it.
I will be safe I promise. I have taken some safety precautions. My husband and I are going to be moving out very soon. We are looking around for new apartment tommorow. I am excited about that. From now on when people approach me in this crooked city I am going to preach about Jesus Christ. If that does not make someone leave me alone I do not know what will. LOL It works a lot though. Kind of sad if you think about it. But Hey At least I can share with them How I met jesus and why they should love Jesus too.

Hi all

Derrick and I went to a event for kids with disabilities last night.

I got to set up a booth. So it also counts as work. But it was
a nice event, food, and entertainment.

Today we cellebrated my 8 year old grandson's birthday. I am
so glad we did this. It was lots of fun, having it here for Ethan.

Donna, that is what it is about to survive make good memories when we can.

The flooding risk is gone, the river is starting to go down. Lots of trees down here. The winds were terrible. I am still looking for a garbage can. The awning at the trailer is partial off, the rest of the christmas items buried in snow are blown off into the trees.
No snow left and it is calling for 60* this week, so maybe an early Spring.

I went to work today, drove all the way up there and the landlord told me the person moved. No forwarding address. Drove all the back home, I finally fell asleep at 4pm this afternoon and got up at 11pm. I have appointments today so need a few hours of sleep if I can get it.

See how this week goes Mon, Tues and Wed are booked solid with appointments.
Brain burn out.......body failure, emotional drain.

Thanks Di

I have to add, its definately a good memory thing. The reason being
I remember the last time we really celebrated as a family for his birthday
it was after I had taken him to my mom's and he got burned bad.

And I can still remember it. We had a party when everyone showed
up that day. Since we were all there. But I'm not sure how much
he enjoyed it.

But he did enjoy yesterdays.

Another weekend Spring is Here

Enjoying the Spring like days and really unsual weather at 60*, I had to work yesterday early, and have a photography club anniversary dinner tonight. Taking the days one by one....

Hoping everyone had this beautiful break in the weather.

DD had to pick out her high school courses for 9th grade, I can't believe it. The year my then younger son graduated highschool, 2001, I was registering the youngest for Kindergarten.

She is still moderatly agoraphobic, she has one gf that she will go to dinner with when she visits once a month. She is sooooo different then my De who was outgoing and blasted into life. De prior to her injury was a majorette, roller skated dance with a friend when their partner was not available, rock wall climbed and repelled.

youngest goes to photography club, somewhat, the dinners, she goes to lunch meeting of my civic groups. Last week she spent volunteer time with me at an afterschool program,. That is her activity level though. No phone ringing, no friends to pal with. SHe will be 15 in the fall.
The cyber schooling is going good, her grades are excellant, but motivation level to attend live lessons is poor. She would rather watch the recording as to not interact.
Got long, but that is the week in a posting.....No other news yet.:grouphug:
di

bizi 03-21-2010 11:18 AM

She sounds shy.
Perhaps she will grow out of this.
You are a great mom you know!

DiMarie 03-21-2010 01:43 PM

Bizi, I hope so,
I was shy, but I did have a few close friends. One since second grade and I still keep in contact. Old classmates often remark how did I ever become a cop. I tell them, because once I was a victim and their voices needed to be heard.

But I want dd to be enjoying life, your only a teen once. She so misses her sister. The other day I noticed she had a character on her SIM game that looked exactly like De. We all miss her soooo much.I wanted to heal my family now we are terrorized by a monster.

My ex is the lowest life in the world, he does not even care what he is doing to our son with his hurtful greed.......our son is devestated. But now sees the bs this man gives. He NEVER had a thing to do with them, his choice!

Mr. Attorney with the spying eyes, go ahead and print everything you want, you can't change what a BUM this man is!!!!!

Yes they have had private investigators here, and my personal postings. All they will find is a heartbroken Mom, and family so depressed too.
