Need prayers, good vibes, etc.
 

With a family member who had malignant melanoma, I check my moles religiously. I'm finding myself getting a wee bit nervous. Some may know I went to my doc in March to make sure it was ok to wait to see the dermatologist on the 14th of this month - and he said I should be fine.

I have two moles that changed in size rather quickly since December. They used to be what I call ink-dot in size, but have about tripled in size. I checked them again last night and they are a little bigger. They are still smaller than a pencil's eraser, but I've never had any change this quickly. :eek: I've had quite a few moles removed a small grouping at a time since I was a teen, and none have ever come back truly benign in biopsy.

I am so trying not to obsess about this since I know most would still consider them too small to be of any immediate concern. I'm just fortunate that I made the appointment before I found these two.

I just pray for peace of mind until I see the doctor. :(

You got it -- prayers, good vibes, etc. Try not to obsess too much. It is good that you are geting them checked out.

prayers and good thoughts heading your way, I would say do not worry, but from me that is a joke as i worry about anything in life... with the kids and family and regular every day stuff at times ....

When you the doctor tells you the spots are OK, may I suggest you make an appointment to have them removed anyway?

This might be a good time to get rid of them so they can't worry you again. :hug:

Koala, I suspect they will. This is a new doc, so it's going to be interesting. The last one was not a keeper. New town, so needed new doc at the time.

Despite the fact that I have had strange things in the past and family history, she wanted to burn my last moles off without biopsy. I raised the roof over that one! She complied hesitantly to my request and then had to backpedal when the results of the biopsy came back. No wonder she never set up another appointment with me, lol. :rolleyes: I went looking for her, but the practice is no longer where it was - but it's ok with me to start afresh.
