burning toe........ouch!!!
HI Everyone! I hope this find y'all having a pain free day.......
I woke up in the night last night and thought my bed was on fire because my big toe felt like it was on fire! I've never had this pain before. It only lasted for about 2 minutes or so and I rubbed it and finally the pain stopped. My foot seemed to have a light vibration after the burning stopped. I have Chronic Axonal Neuropathy and have been in horrible leg pain lately. I just started taking Traumeel. It's been available in Europe for many years and just resently in the US. It's an anti-inflammatory and has really helped with my leg pain since I started taking in about a week ago! Nothing the dr.s have given me or other meds I've tried have worked at all for my leg pain. I was just looking up "Toe burning pain" online and came up with the possiblity of gout.......What do y'all think? Is this just more of the PN getting worse again?? Thanks for any help you can give me......y'all are always great!! |
Glow little toe brighter brighter
When my pn was at its worst a burning toe was pretty common. I swear, I felt if I lifted the sheet I might see my toe glowing !

I have had one major gout attack. There is swelling with gout.
And red skin color. The pain is substantial, and throbbing in nature. The toe I crushed, under the boulder (broken in 2 places) often prickles at night. Majorly, esp if I bend it or wiggle it. That pain is like 10 sharp needles, and no throbbing. If I put Salonpas on it, that stops. Traumeel: http://www.traumeel.com/Traumeel_com_Tablets.homotox The X's in that product designate a very dilute homeopathic concentration. I don't see how they arrive a milligrams. Unless it is milligrams of the X dilution....we are talking very minute amounts of anything in this. This explains homeopathy and gives the concentration for various dilutions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homeopathy Homeopathy is popular in Europe. 8X is .00000001 for the mercury. 15mg of a 1 millionth dilution! |
HI!
Well this is how I felt last night! I truely thought my bed was on fire! I've never had this type of pain before. Now I'm worried about going to sleep tonight! Thanks for your info! Quote:

Hi Mrs. D!
Since nothing else has helped me for this rotten pain, I'm really surprised that the Traumeel is having such an affect on my legs! I'm just thankful that for today it's working! Now if I can just get this toe pain so it doesn't return! Thanks! Quote:

Gout hurts 24/7 .... not just at night.
You can get a blood test for it. |
My dr. is out of town this week...wouldn't ya know! So I'll see him next week if this toe pain continues.

Good to see you Roxie!
Think of the 'pain' in a good light? AT LEAST YOU CAN FEEL IT? It's when you can't and don't that can raise really big red flags..
And, YES! some of those pain waves can and do take your breathe away! WHOOO! IF I'd gotten a dollar for every 'breathtaking event'? I'd be RICH! Sooo, we go on, beat our heads against the walls until the pain stops or get hallucinations from meds. AND THE PAIN, STILL isn't gone? We do what each of us must to be and stay sane during this insane pain. Any peculiar stressor can help ignite these pains? Such as insurance Issues? [Trust me there, I got a heap of them?]or doctor problems you name it. Just tell yourself? Don't need this crud... will deal with varied problems in their own time ON MY SCHEDULE! Doctors tho? Durn, the training involved in them is enormous! Hugs and good things good person! - j |
Hi J!!
Good to hear from you! I haven't had any more toe pain since the other night when it woke me up. I hope it doesn't return, ever! It was awful!! As for the pain, for some reason, unknown to me! Traumeel is helping with my pain in a big way! It's an homeopathic medication for anti inflammation and it's really helping with the nerve pain! I just hope it continues because Lord knows, I've tried everything else out there! I'm very tired of with dealing with doctors, receptionists, pharmacists...you name it! It's the pits! My husband says he never thought Pharmacists would know him by his first name....because we're in there so often!! LOL Take care J! Thinking of you!!! Roxie  Quote:

"It only lasted for about 2 minutes or so and I rubbed it and finally the pain stopped."
This is not gout. Sound like a shooting pain of some sort. Gout doesn't go away after a quick rub, unfortunately :( |
It's funny how pain hits us...out of the blue, and sometimes disappearing as stragely as it appeared. Well, not funny, that's just a figure of speech, ya know!:p
Last June, out of the blue, I got this horrible jaw pain, the trigeminal nerve, on the left side. It was probably the worst pain I have ever had...nothing helped, except heat, and that was questionable. This pain would hit out of the blue, and the minute it hit, it was the most horrendous pain ever...as a rule, it lasted about 10-15 minutes, and I was totally beside myself with this pain. The last time it hit me, it lasted 45 minutes, I was in tears long before it ended. Thankfully, it has not came back, it happened almost nightly for 2 weeks. Hopefully, it will never return. For now, I am dealing with neck/shoulder pain. The fire is immense in my shoulders, even thought maybe a firetruck would help! I am not finding much comfort with it, it's been going on for over 2 weeks. I stopped my cardio exercises, which are not the cause, I have been doing them for well over 1 year, and for now, an walking at a fast pace in place of them. As Joan (Dahlak) told me, I keep my head up high, watching the trees, so as not to put pressure on my neck/shoulders. My neuro will have a long list in June when I see him!!! |
