Another day of sleep for me, now insomnia has hit.

Temps were still nasty today. I had to run some errands for school supplies and groceries. My youngest son is taking junior ROTC this year, and had to have a haircut tonight. So much I need to be out and about doing, but just can not in this heat.

Morning all :) Trying to awake with my caffine jumpstart. Real tired this morn, but it might be just because I crawled out of bed not too long ago. :D

Good Morning! Soon I will be writing TGIF! But I have one more week of freedom before classes start on the 23rd.:D I am leaving in a few minutes to go to pt, and then I have a few things to pick up at the drugstore. Going to go see Eat, Pray, Love this afternoon. They have once again extended our excessive heat warning. Now it is in effect through Saturday night. Do they issue these warnings in the south? :confused:

Me, too, Pam. That story line was just a bit unbelievable.

One more hot day here and then we're supposed to have some relief. Rain is forecast for the weekend and temps in the high 80's. I never thought that would sound so glorious!

I updated my thread in the Sanctuary about Claire. She's having a difficult time with round 3 of chemo but thank goodness it's over and she is back home. She's such a trooper.

A friend I used to work with is coming into town next week. We're going to get together with another girl from work who still lives here and meet for dinner. I can't wait. We always have such a good time together.

When I went to the grocery store on Wednesday there were several police officers in the store. They were in a group over by the SunTrust Bank that has a branch inside the store. I wondered what happened but didn't ask anyone. I just read in the paper that the branch had been robbed! About an hour before I showed up there! :eek: Too close for comfort. :rolleyes: The economy here still stinks and the unemployment rate is getting higher. :( People are getting desperate.

Hey all! It is so hot I bet Satan is looking for a fan! I need to go out and switch my pond filter but will wait until later when the sun goes down on that side. We lost power last night for two hours. I hope that doesn't happen again today!

Pam, my sister laughed at me when I said it was hot up here. She said I have the winters, she has the summers. LOL

Debbie, don't be so hard on yourself. Everyone is having a hard time in this heat. Nik mowed my lawn yesterday and he's young and very healthy and felt like he was going to pass out. :hug: Jim hasn't been out in days. I need to take him out but his temp goes up within minutes and I cannot risk him having a heat stroke.

My A/C isn't running......and it's 2:30 PM in the afternoon!!

We need this break so badly. From the heat and the dryness. :)

Yes we have heat advisory warnings... today it lasts until 8pm. Any time the heat index is expected to go over 100 they issue an excessive heat advisory.

Sandy, I have lived in the midwest before and both the winters there and summers here are about equal in the pain/frustration they cause! I am about ready to move back to the central coast of CA. At least the temps were fairly even all year long. The only thing that holds us back from doing it, is their state taxes are unreal!

I had to run a couple of errands this morning, then came home and crashed.

Morning all. Just a short note to say hi. It's cooler here today-we had very heavy rainstorms go through yesterday.
This zoo is stressing me out a bit...4 dogs a cat & 8 adults is a bit much for this small place. Feeling a bit overwhelmed by it all...but there's lots of laughter so that makes up for it.
Hope everyone gets the cooldown that I'm reading about...

Enjoyed Eat, Pray, Love. If you have read the book. it does follow it pretty closely. Julia Roberts did a wonderful job. She will probably be nominated for an Oscar as she was in every scene.

I am not ready for winter, but I am definitely looking forward to Fall:D.

Been doing some back to school shopping on line. Ordered some shoes from Zappos yesterday (I love Zappos:p) and a few things that were on sale at J. Jill today.

I have my neuro appointment tomorrow morning. If it is not too hot and I feel okay after the drive and appointment, I am going to go to Kohl's. I received a 30% off coupon from them.

It actually feels comfortable outside this morning. I went to get the paper off the driveway and it didn't feel like I was walking into an oven. I hope it lasts for a while.

Morning, morning. Spent some time with DH this weekend since his business travel spurts lent themselves to two weeks in a row.

And one of our friends was moving, and we got an eliptical at an awesome price. Hubby gave it the once over, and we tried it out. It's a really nice one. I'm actually excited to get started with a routine. :)

Okay, Fin, if you can do more than 3 minutes on the elliptical I'm going to announce myself the biggest wimp this side of the Mississippi!

I never knew how hard an elliptical was! Watching people on television using them it looks so easy! They just keep going and going.

Even DS can get on it and go full speed for 20 minutes! :eek: After 2-3 minutes my legs are shaking so badly I think I'm gonna collapse!

Keep us posted on how you're doing! I'm excited for you that you got one.

I think it's because it has a full range motion of an exercise bike without the weight relief of a seat to settle oneself on. Bike much easier since I can just sit there, lol Definitely will have to work my way up with this thing. :)

Just got back from Champaign – hot and a little dizzy. Doctor is going to have me try a different muscle relaxant(zanaflex), but first I have to taper off the baclofen. Since I take 6 pills a day, it is going to take me three weeks to taper off. Hopefully, I will not feel a lot worse while doing the taper. Otherwise, he did not have much to say. I really wish there was a MS clinic around here.

Bought some bagels at Panera and two shirts at Kohl’s. I did not need the shirts, but they were only 7.00 each with sale and 30% off coupon. I also got a shirt at Coldwater Creek and a sweater at J. Jills that I may take back. I did not try them on in the store. Too hot! Had lunch at Ruby Tuesdays. Oh -- also bought 5 books at Borders.:o

Barb - My sister gave me some hand-me-downs about a year ago or so. In there was some stuff from J.Jills. I really liked them. My other sister gave me a shirt from Coldwater. I still love getting hand-me-downs. hahaha But I did like the clothes from those stores. Nice fabric and well made.

Fin & Kelly - You both conquer that and lets all know how it goes. I'm just gonna sit back and be the cheerleader. It's too hot to do much else here. Over 110 the other day.:eek:

Since it is so hot out and I will only paint outside or in the garage (hey, it gets messy), I started playing with watercolor pencils. Man! I love those things. I have been having so much fun with them. But, I know I have to return them to my neighbor. Yup! I know what I'm doing with that jar of change I've been saving.

Sitting in my office at school -- my last syllabus is done.:D I guess that means classes are starting on Monday:eek:, I have always looked forward to the beginning of classes and Fall semester. This year -- I am feeling a bit guilty as I am not too excited.:o Getting ready to leave for pt -- still a tad bit dizzy. It should be interesting:rolleyes:.

Stormy day here but I'm not complaining. We need the rain and a break in the hot temps.

Just doing some dusting and vacuuming this morning. WHERE does all the dust come from? I changed my air filter in the Furnace/AC. I got one of those anti-allergen filters and hope that will cut down on some of the dust. I know the cat litter box causes some of it but I've just recently changed to an all natural/organic litter so maybe that will help some.

My sister might be coming for a visit in November. I'm trying to convince her to come for Thanksgiving so we can have a mini-reunion. We can still have the reunion whether or not it's Thanksgiving but it'd be nice to be around family on the holiday.

Kelly, I've got a new duster to try out here soon. We have a tall ceiling and we've been trying to find a way to get the bunnies out of the drop fan we have. I've tried some that have that oval opening, but the blades are too big. The duster gets stuck, LOL!

Hi all...haven't checked in for a bit. Still at DD's house visiting. Wow...the temps feel like autumn!! It was 43 yesterday morning up at the cabin...glad we left before it got cold.
DD & I went shopping yesterday & I paid later...eg spasms hit. Oh well...

My sister is in the hospital again. Her intestines blocked up & she was in terrible pain. I haven't been able to get a call through, but her DIL is calling to keep me informed.

I'll be headed home this afternoon. Good cause I'm sick of using this Iphone to type! Miss DH too.

Not a good morning so far. Accidentally swore at one poor lady for a major scheduling snafu at my neuro's office. I was supposed to have a close follow up, and someone scheduled me a year out. :eek: Hopefully, they will take care of it for me.

I talked to my sister last night and she has decided not to come visit during the Thanksgiving holiday. Guess where she is going? Eastern Europe! Croatia and Slovenia! :eek: She bought some package through her travel agent. She will fly into Venice and take a boat to Croatia. On the way back home she will visit Paris for a few days before returning to Dulles Airport. Wow. She's definitely more adventurous than I am. She's traveling alone, too! I told her I at least wanted a t-shirt out of this. :p

Well, time for a shower and to get dressed. Not sure what I'm doing today but you can bet it will be indoors with the A/C on!

I have already been to the grocery store. I wanted to beat the students. The cars, mini vans, and SUV's are pouring into town. I am just taking it easy these last few days.

Jenn, I understand your frustration. I got mad at a woman on the phone last month when I was experiencing cable problems. I hate dealing with technical issues. I did apologize, but I wish I hadn't because she made the problem worse.:p I ended up having to have someone come to the house. I wonder is she did that on purpose:rolleyes:.

Kelly, Your sister definitely does sound adventurous. Is she a younger or older sister? It sounds like Eat, Pray, Love;). I am sorry she won't be able to visit you over Thanksgiving.
