Sunday was a good day!

yesterday was only the 2nd day in almost 2 months that I walked unassisted!
it was only 20 steps but I'm really hoping to wake up in the morning to more of the same. I borrowed my Dad's hiking stick and was using it in place of my rollator walker (when i didn't need to carry anything).

i'm trying not to get too excited as i did have this happen about 1 month ago as well. but it only lasted for a few hours...

oh man i just got up to use the bathroom and ended up falling for the first time in a long time! but i was able to get back up right away and not much damage i hope. my toes got tangled up in my table but don't appear to be broken... lol i feel stupid after typing the first paragraph and then falling. i think i just got too excited!

anyhow just wanted to share the good news i'm still very excited but my foot hurts lol! :o

no last time it only affected my leg, this time my hand a bit too! i am still able to walk without support! i need that walking stick because i'm unsteady but my strength is back in the legs for 12 hours or so now! its weird because my right leg still feels the same, down to my thigh feeling asleep!

thanks for the encouragement and well wishes everyone! i hope you all have this kind of excitement as well!

Maybe this is one of those rare times when pins & needles is a good sign, then...I sure hope so!

What great news!!! This "thing" sure makes us grateful for small blessings! Hope you continue on the up-swing. :)

Great to hear this news. Wonderful!

It's so good to hear pleasant news for a change. Lots of posts seem very negative, I'm glad you have positive news for us.:):)

Keep it up..forever I hope.

clarkstar 10-21-2010 06:08 PM

thanks for the goodwill everybody :)

unfortunately it didn't last, but overall, i am more mobile than i have been in awhile. i was even able to go on walks around the block 4 days in a row last week, alas, it only lasted a week, from sunday night to sunday night. i am able to walk to the kitchen using the staff or alone a few times a day, but it really seems to change so much from day to day and hour to hour.

i'm still not being treated for it except gabapentin and oxycodone but hope to soon, going to a new PCP tomorrow to get the referrals i need.
