Hey, wow, thanks, people

It's a lovely day so far. Paula even called and SANG happy birthday to me. We're going to a seafood restaurant on the riverfront this evening. There have been a lot of good beginnings for me lately. Life is good. PD sucks.

Thanks you guys, you're the best! Vive NeuroTalk!

shrimp or lobster?

madelyn, if I were in Maine or Massachusetts or New Hampshire, I'd have lobster. If I were anywhere near Tilghman Island in the Chesapeake Bay, I'd have oysters (only not this time of year). Anywhere else in the bay or the State of Maryland, I'd have blue crab, Callinectes (“beautiful swimmer”) sapidus (“savory”)--I don't know much about other crabs, but I've observed that they're almost flavorless next to C. sapidus.

Moving right along, if I were in Rhode Island, I'd have to try one of those conches that Steve says are so good. On the Gulf's shores, that's where I'd want shrimp, but who knows...

Lobster is hard for me to taste any more, but I do like it a lot--any kind from anywhere. I'm allergic to scallops and to a little Pacific oyster.

I didn't think I could say this much about fish, but I never cook it at home because my beloved detests it and is allergic to some kinds, so in a good restaurant I will sometimes try a local fish, but one has to be careful. In the Chesapeake Bay, a rockfish is to other fish as butternut squash is to other squash, but in Seattle one time I ordered rockfish and discovered it was a bottom feeder.

I'll probably order some kind of luscious, red, juicy, flavorful, rich salmon, velvety and good for the heart.

What would you have, madelyn?
