Thanksgiving ANYONE!
 

Hi,

It is a holiday from work. All good.

Hubby wants to invite a friend over whose 20 something son has just moved out of the house. I'm going to ignore the two of them and let them have their own fun while hubby cooks something for the two of them.

I might go to a move (For Colored Girls perhaps)
and / or
get my girlfriend to walk on the boardwalk at the beach with me.


What else is happening?

We are going out to eat. ANd probably having a lunch with Mother in law.

But one son and family is joining for Thanksgiving. The other is
going to her families.

I have already posted our menu somewhere....just the 5 of us for dinner at our house...may have 2 1/2 extra at the last minute though...there will be plenty of food.
going for a hike the day after...supposed to be in the 40's then burr! it was 80 today!

I made cranberry sauce...it was so easy!
boil one cup of sugar and one cup of water add 3 cups of cranberries and boil until they all pop open about 10 minutes.
voila!:D
It tastes just like the canned stuff! lol:rolleyes:

It was so simple the recipe was on the bag(3 cups) of fresh cranberries,
I discovered that I like warmed cranberry sauce:wink:

Just finished ironing the linens and setting the table, I learned to set it early from my mother, she entertains often I just pretend to every few years or so.

Well the turducken is in the fridge and I was able to get some
jalepeno cornbread crawfish stuffing/dressing!!!!!!!
The guy said it was his favorite!
so excited about that!:D

i will be working. it is not a holiday here.

and my mother seems to have forgotten this year. so is not doing a semi-thanksgiving menu. they had turkey filets tonight. tomorrow will be pot luck. oh well.

i am thankful i have a job, for however long it may last. :o
i am actually thankful for much more than i can even begin to list, but you are all on that list, rest assured!

hope everyone has a great family day and wonderful food.

my wish for us all tomorrow is that we might be blessed with the spirit of kindness and patience... social gatherings sometimes require a healthy capacity for those things... ;) in my case, at work... well it will also help there. Besides, even if i am not eating and do not have the day off, it will still be Thanksgiving for me.

I'm thankful for many things.

But I will post that I'm most thankful for my sister this year. She is
8.5 years cancer free. I had forgotten till my brother in law posted
the amount of time on facebook.

Sometimes I think with seizures its bad. But I remember the time while
she was going through treatment. I also remember the battle she went
through to prove to a doctor she was sick.

I hate to think what would have happened if she had believed them
when they said, it was in her head.

i hope you enjoyed your time with family or friends or both.

i must say i had an 'odd' Thanksgiving. but i did take the time, and the feeling, to experience thankfulness for what i have, and to express it to those dear to me such as my parents. i also called a friend in the US that i knew would be really surprised, and also appreciative, to wish them a happy thanksgiving. this is a person who is outgoing enough to share briefly what they were doing, which was nice also. it was contact. and we agreed to touch base again soon as we have been playing a sort of "IM tag" with offline messages.

Dear Steve, you haven't mentioned plans, but i have been hoping you would be spending the day or part of it with family and experience the sense of unity and belongingness, and even perhaps safety, that goes with that. Thank you enormously for your precious support lately. it has meant so much to me. you have helped me greatly.

Yes. I had turkey,stuffing,greenbeans,and some pie. I spent my thanksgiving with my sister,bil,two nieces,and some visitors. It went very well. BF:hug::hug::hug:

WE had a very quiet dinner party, 5.
unfortunately my friend and her daughter had been sick and barely were able to come at all they picked at little bits of food.
I am so glad that they felt good enough to even come.
Her husband said that he would have come alone.
I am stuffed!
Tomorrow I am going on a day hike with my girl friend...I have to get up very early 6am and be at her houese by 7.
It is supposed to be cold 40's and may rain but we are still going.
Wish us luck and warmer weather.

Hi we went to Golden Corral for dinner. After spending 21/2 or so hours
with my MIL. Which was great. She really enjoyed the time.

I am so thankful she is doing so well.

My husband ended up going Black Friday shopping by himself. Derrick and
I were going to drive in and meet him a couple hours later. But it was
22 degrees. And I'd spent the night with pain in my leg.

So I decided to stay home. But it was fine Derrick didn't care.


We might go later tomorrow to town. I have to admit lately I've been blessed
and thankful for my husband.

Its nice to know he is around.

thought I would post this here too.....

turducken turned out great it cooked more quickly so we were hurrying up warming the other side dishes.
Un fortunately, our friends were not feeling well my girl friend and her daughter had eaten something did not agree with them..up all night getting sick...they came and picked at some food. I was grateful that they felt up to coming over but am sorry that they were not feeling well.
I tried to call them tonight and did not get an answer. our husbands are out of town playing a gig at a casino outside in the freezing weather...burr!
I was out of town today with my girlfriend and her family.
a hiking trip.
It was challenging trying to stay dry as we walked along a creek bed manuvering bolders and running water. my new hiking shoes worked great on the wet rocks.
I actually was able to get up at 5;50 this morning with out the alarm!
and ate a big breakfast of left over thanksgiving food.
nothing better than spicy corn bread crawfish stuffing to wake you up!
It was a two hour ride there and we met up with some other people at the park....which was in the tunica hills of mississippi.
After the hike we stopped at a diner called south of the border(miss.)
for an early dinner, corn and shrimp bisque, and Crab cakes with lump crab...boy were they good.
We had to take a ferry to get acrossed the miss. river both there and back. by the time we made it home it was dark and I arrived back to my house around 7pm. Still full from our early dinner but I always have room for pie. pumpkin and pecan....yummy!
I will sleep well tonight!
Happy and tired and now full.

It is saturday morning and I am very sore from the hike yesterday...my calves are really sore...think I will wait to go to the gym. I don't think I could have done the hike had I not been exercising...lots of physical stuff, up and down terrain, climbing over rocks and fallen trees and manuvering over the creek bed, wet rocks and roots...I did not fall in! or down which was great since it was raining a bit and I would have gotten muddy!

I'm eating Turkey sandwiches. My family members gave me some turkey to take home. Yum Yum. BF:hug::hug::hug:

I did go to the gym today...worked out extra hard and long due to all of the extra eating...of the pies!!!!!:rolleyes:

So glad you had a good hiking day. I really miss my membership at the
gym. On top of that I had to stop my massages for now. Things just
keep getting worse.

Really miss both. Had to take my grandson, Will, 4 years old to the ER
last night. He got strep in less than 6 hours. Man it was really fast.

They had to use something for swollen throat, to calm him down. Along
with motrin, to see if it was strep. They did the strep test, and also
checked for flu. I could have told them it wasn't flu.

So I'm hoping he continues to get well.

ahhh hiking... i miss it.... maybe one day can figure out how to do that...enough on plate for now. glad you had fun and didn't get muddy Bizi. :)

I have no problem admitting that it was his mothers decision. I personally
go with her decisions on the grandkids. But I'm glad she was so insistent.

Because lots didn't think that time of night necessary. Hate to think
how bad he would have been in the morning.
