Only 9* out now, This is late Jan. Feb. weather.
Extra cat in the bed tonight...

Everyone in the deep freeze?

It's a little warmer tonight, but not by much. It's 25 degrees tonight. Last night it was 19 degrees. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Friend2U 12-10-2010 02:57 AM

39 here...so can't complain. Wish I could send a few degrees your way! :o

Dmom3005 12-10-2010 09:04 AM

BRRRRRR is so right. I do not even want to know what the wind chilled
made it here.

Its in the singles at night for sure. Snowed again too. And more expected tonight and I have a training in the morning.

Donna:grouphug:

DiMarie 12-10-2010 07:32 PM

I can't believe the lake effect snow we are having. Not much accumulation, but every day another inch. A few miles west it is feet. Step daughter is above Buffalo NY and 20 minutes from her they have feet and feet.

Sunday a heat wave at 40*. I did not even hand holiday lights, just a few display items. 3' tall Tigger in a sleigh, but we are so far off the road, no one can see him. The neighbor has a snowman that has to be 25' tall. In these winds he reminds me of the staypuff Marshmellow guy on Ghost Busters, waddling away.

Mari 12-12-2010 06:23 AM

Dear Di and Donna,

How is the snow??

I hope that you and your loved ones are safe. :)

M.

DiMarie 12-12-2010 03:35 PM

Not much in the way of snow yet, just miles away it was feet deep. The freeze let up yesterday to40*, long enough that I hung a few lights outside. The reg sets let me down so everything is mismatched of some shade or shape of white, lol.

My son said the house looks like I was intoxicated when I did it, lol I told him it is a Charlie Brown house...making do with what I have. I guess I should unplug the one bedroom window in Katies room that had multi color from previous years that I had just unplugged.....maybe just a single candle will be better in the two window.

I was in Philly Wed at a work assignment and my hands froze taking pictures and measurements. It was so windy and cold down there I did not expect that.
Today is still 40's, raining and so windy. I rescheduled an assignment in the Pocono's that would have outside pictures. But, as a result it is back to the deep freeze again.

Thanks for asking and hope your days are warm in the heart.
di

Abbie 12-12-2010 10:20 PM

I had to go outside to move my car... stepped in to 2ft drift... It hasn't snowed that much here but it sure is blowing!!!

I think we have had about 4 inches of snow...
Temperature is currently 20*, windchill makes it feel like 3*.

Many of the schools are either in a 2 hour delay or closed tomorrow.

BlueMajo 12-14-2010 12:20 AM

Im really suffering with this weather... I mean, Im in Mexico City, we dont get now or anything, but for that reason, we dont have heaters at home or anything, so, I dont know if it is then more or less the same... at least the same effect...

No kidding, I cant warm myself !!! Im in bed, with glooves, scarf, socks, wool pjs and nothing... still freezing... !

The worst thing is that all my bones hurt like hell.... I can bareley move ! My hands specially... ouch, cant handle this pain... *sigh*

Dmom3005 12-14-2010 01:33 PM

BRRRR is all I have to say.

I really hate this weather. We had closed schools yesterday. And I had
the opportunity to take the day off as a snow day. Wow, I have a great
employer to get paid for a snow day.

But its really cold today, and it was a 2 hour delay today. And I really
hope I have enough heat in my van to run to my party tonight.

And get were I need to go tomorrow.

It's in the upper 20's here, and windy. Brrr. I take back what I said about the cold weather to someone last week, because I am feeling the cold weather now. Brrr.

I never had a job where the bosses let us have snow days off...and pay. It's good to hear about good bosses. :) BF :hug::hug:

Yes, and with my RSD this weather is terrible, even in Florida its cold!

Brokenfriend 12-14-2010 03:05 PM

I'm sorry that you are suffering. I hear that Florida may be loosing there Strawberry crop. It's 31 degrees, and windy here in the mid-east coast area.
I hope that you feel better this afternoon. BF:hug::hug::hug:

waves 12-14-2010 05:39 PM

i guess i'm in the shallow freeze... :o:D

i mean it's basically in the twenties at night, and the thirties in the day.

luckier than many of you.

with all the clothes i often feel suffocated in the morning.
and at night... well for i guess other reasons i don't feel the cold.....................

which is not typical.... i tend to run cooler, physically... but not these days :D hey, i'm not complaining even if it's not hte deep freeze it's cold ENOUGH, thank you!!! :D:cool:

~ waves ~

Brokenfriend 12-14-2010 08:36 PM

It's 8:35 PM,and it's 21 degrees here. We might get snow on Thursday,and more this weekend. BF:hug::hug::hug:

DiMarie 12-14-2010 09:20 PM

Back into the deep freeze and wind chill. Burrrr The temps being cold is one thing, but the wind and lake effect snow blowing chills to the bones.

The wind was terrible this morning but died down this afternoon when I had to get an assignment done. Tomorrow I have another one, really close by and Thursday about an hr away into the deep Pocono's. Heavy snow out that way. I need the money, but gee by body is so pained.

We may get a high of 30*, that will feel like a heat wave from yesterday and last night.

Scary about the Florida cold, I hate to think of the crops and the folks that live there for the warmth.

Tonight it will be a bit warmer, maybe 9*. I was able to hang a few lights, and inside I hung a few things, Mickey related....
I am so trying to make a Holiday for the kids. I need to dig out a spot for the tree from all this paper work in the family room play table.

We will all cuddle together to keep warm ..... :grouphug:

Big day for surfers in the cold sunshine

Hi,

When I woke up Tuesday, it was 35 degrees. . . . Record cold for us.
I called work, hoping that the day had been cancelled.

The winds were up.

It's 20 degrees now.(1:20AM)(12/16) It's suppose to start snowing around sunrise. We could get 4 to 6 inches in my area. The weather people say it might snow on Saturday also,or it could go out to sea. They're not sure. We will see. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Dear Di,
Thanks for reminding me about humidfiers.

Maybe I should ask hubby to by one for us (He likes gadgets).

Dmom3005 12-16-2010 02:43 PM

Hi everyone

Not sure how cold it got again yesterday. It was 5 in the morning, but
that didn't figure in the wind chill factor. It was even colder feeling last
night.

But it snowed through the night. And the kids had a 2 hour delay today.

Isn't that the truth. It's 23 degrees right now.(11:39 PM) We only had about 2 1/2 inches of powdered snow today. They where calling for more snow then that. We never know. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Hello Di,and Mari
I was at Wal-Mart the other day shoping, and many of the things that I touched gave me a static discharge. That's a sign of dry air. Humidifiers are good for that type of thing, sinuses, and skin.

I use to buy humidifiers, but they get clogged with hard water in this state, and the are hard to clean. Very hard. My brother in law taught me a better way.

My brother in Law has a big pot of water simmering on one of his stoves. That's what I need to do right now. A big pot is much easier to clean, and they last a lot longer.

I'm going in the kitchen, and fill a pot with hot water, and let it simmer. You don't want the inside atmosphere to get to damp, and you can work on the amount of simmering that suits your environments.

This is just something that I've learned, and thought that I would pass it on.

By the way. It's 1:54 AM,(12/18)and 23 degrees. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Dmom3005 12-18-2010 08:44 AM

ITs warmed just a little here. Its in the low 20's. But I'll take it for
now. Its to get cold again in a day or two and snow. UGH.

Donna:grouphug:

Brokenfriend 12-18-2010 06:47 PM

It's warmed up here to 35 degrees around dinner time. It's suppose to cool down again here also in a day,or two. BF:hug::hug::hug:

bizi 12-19-2010 12:55 AM

we are headed north tuesday, stop in memphis before our destination. It is about a 16 hour drive to Indy from here.
I bought new boots and wool socks and gloves.
I am very chilly by nature but have really been cold since this weight loss.
Am not looking forward to snow and colder temps...yes I know that I am a whimp...
I don't know how you poor people get thru the winter.
burrr!!!!!
bizi

waves 12-19-2010 06:09 AM

yes bizi i don't know how anyone manages through that either.

i am truly grateful we don't have temps go below 0 F here. 0 C (32 F, freezing point of water) - and that is bad enough. in Fahrenheit terms, i haven't seen it go lower than the teens here, at night, and only one winter during the day. and to me that was K-K-K-K-K-KOLDD. well beyond brrr!

i hope you have a good trip and the weather holds out for ya. hope the boots work out too. (i need new boots too... having trouble carving time out to shop for them though.) if the boots are suede make sure they were weatherproofed... if not, scotchguard them before you go.

lately we've been running 15-25 F at night, and about 25-35 in the day. for some reason i am not feeling it as much, except thurs and fri but i think because was getting sick.

~ waves ~ sending woolly thoughts to all :D

Brokenfriend 12-19-2010 11:38 PM

It's 11:38 PM Sunday night, and the outside temperature has gone back down below freezing. It's 22 degrees out there right now. BF:hug::hug::hug:

BF did that weekend snow hit you? I saw it went south of us again and thought about you.

It is 28* during the day about 20* at night right now, calling for a white Christmas, but the worse of it all around us.

I hate being out in the cold. wish the hot tub was filled. I should ask Santa for that.....
Looks like the trend this winter may stay with a cold and tons of systems going south.

Hey Di. We had a 2,and 1/2 inch snow event. It wasn't much, but it still hasn't fully melted.

Yes. They are calling for snow on Christmas day. The storm system is on it's way from the California area at this time. It's a very warm 35 degrees right now. The temperature will probably go back down soon. BF:hug::hug::hug:

ginnie 12-22-2010 02:23 PM

cold

We have a two day warm up to 70. Then another cold spell of 40's.This is unusual for south west fl. Winters are colder. I am grateful for the 70 degree day or two.:D ginnie

Dmom3005 12-22-2010 07:20 PM

WEre due for more snow on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Well I already
was having a white christmas, now just hoping it wont cancell Kokomo
trip.

Donna:grouphug:

Brokenfriend 12-23-2010 04:25 AM

Now according NOAA(National Oceanic, and Atmospheric Administration), my area has a chance for snow on Saturday,Sat.night,Sunday, and Sunday night.

Wow! We will see. They may change the forecast again. That would make it very Christmas like around here. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Abbie 12-23-2010 11:32 PM

We are supposed to get snow beginning tomorrow...
It depends on which weather person you want to listen to as to how much we may get.

One is saying 1 to 3 inches... another is saying 2 to 4. It doesn't matter... we already have 6 inches on our lawn.

I'd rather have a white Christmas than a wet Christmas.

bizi 12-24-2010 12:05 AM

well we heard 4-6 inches for indy.....i have my boots and long underwear all ready.
