Now or never

Well, I'm having a lot of anger at my family and freinds. If they can't see me when I'm alive they sure as hell ain't going to see when I depart this world. I called a bunch of places and plan to enjoy the now with the money I have tied up for my funeral. I cashed in my life insurance policies, have information coming in to donate my body to science when the time comes, plan to sell my plot at the cemetary, and plan to arrange any monies I have left over to go to charity. I now am awaiting for a call from my lawyer.

I may take a trip and enjoy the hell out of my sefl with some of the money.

This sounds sort of sudden...why not sit on this for a while...unless this is something that you have been sitting on already...

Hi,
Do somethiing for yourself.
Don't do it because you want to do something against them.

If you feel that you need to do something for yourself, then do it.
Enjoy yourself.

Hi All,

I have been actually thinking about doing these things for a long time before today so it's not just out of the blue. I actually feel relieved now that I've taken the 1st step to go through these things.

Hi,
Sometimes it feels great to make a decision and start making the steps.

your money should be spent the way you want to. for YOU to enjoy.

soooo....what are your plans for the money? :)

befuddled2 02-28-2007 01:16 AM

Hi Curious,

I would like to take a one day trip to the mountains and play the quarter machines. But for the most part, I desperartely need a newer car because mine is so old it's sucking all my money out of me and is not very dependable. I still need a job though to add to it but it shouldn't take me long.

Mari 02-28-2007 01:42 AM

Befuddled,
A trip to the mountains to play the machines would be fairly cheap, right?

And yes, a newer car sounds like an eventualy necessity.
You'll get a job and everything you need.
Keep taking steps toward your goal/s.
You have made amazing accomplishments.

How did you do with the financial aid form?

Having a plan helps to feel more in control of things...that you are taking an active role in your life and not a passive one.
This is wonderful that you are taking these steps...I would just hate to burn any bridges if at all possible.
TAking care of yourslef is your number one priority....going to the mountains sounds like fun!

hugs to you today my dear

Hi Mari and Bizi,

It is a good thing I have started to take the steps to liquidate my assets because I'm gonna need a another car sooner than I thought if the anti-freeze leak is within the engine.

Dear Befuddled,
Your timing is good! Get money and get a car.

Or maybe you get news that the leak is somewhere else.

i've decided to try to keep my burial plot and life for the time being. they will grow in value as time goes on. i would have to take a real bad loss on the plot. i hope to get a part time job for a car.

((((((Bee)))))),

I'm glad you're checking things out before acting on them.

I ditched the life insurance that I had and got a different policy. The other one was was killing me too early :p I kept the plot that I inherited. I've tried repeatedly to sell it with no luck -- nobody wants a 'onesie' I guess

This is a just a thought: check out http://boston.craigslist.org/about/cities.html I'll bet that you have skills that you haven't used in a long time. In addition to working, think about bartering services for money or maybe even for a used car. Things like balancing checkbooks and keeping bills for elderly or typing or organizing might be good things to barter.

You know, watching you grow and taking responsibility for your future is just like watching a beautiful flower finally be allowed to bloom -- very nice :You-Rock:

Hugs.

Barb

Thank you Barb,

That is a good idea and I will check that site out in a little while. I never thought about how hard it would be to sell a onesy burial plot. Good point.

Bravo BF!!!
I also was thinking about donating my organs and the rest of me going to the "Body Farm" at the University of Tennessee for forensic research. I was an Anthropology major in college so the idea of using my bones and body to help with police identify unknown bodies really appealled to me. But after thinking about it for the last couple of years, I have changed my mind. I still will donate my organs but I have decided to be cremated and sprinkled in the Atlantic Ocean among some of my favorite animals in the world, Humpback and Blue Whales. Todd wants to be sprinkled in the Florida Keys.
It is not morbid to state what your wishes are to your loved ones. Todd and I have had this talk recently because I changed my mind about going to the "Body Farm". This made him happy. He didn't like the idea of my body being in some field being left to the elements to rot for science. It disturbed him for some reason.
We also have expressed our wishes about life support as well. So it is good to also have this in writing and notorized as well. That way your wishes will be carried out. I still gotta get that Living Will packet so that Todd and I can make this official.
So again Bravo! Some people find this icky to talk about, death is a natural occurance and something to not be afraid of. I am more afraid what will happen to me if my family gets their hands on me! Being prepared is the best thing to be!

befuddled2 03-04-2007 01:44 PM

Thanks Nikko and Wendy.

Wendy, you are so right. It's better to decide these things before hand.
