I got our MS chap. on TV
OK, so our local NBC channel has a new street-side studio that they opened in January. When it opened they started letting people come down and get on camera when they went out (like The Today Show does). I thought that since it's MS Awareness Week, I called our program director, Phil on Monday to ask if he would think we should try to get on TV. He said YES and I called the station. they set it up for Wed 6pm newscast and it was FUN. I was worried I would flub what to say, but didn't. the WORST PART today is my last fur free face day. I get to grow back my beard tomorrow (I am going to keep it trimmed) so I feel SO face-fat on TV. but hey it add's 10 lbs right? LOL. My sis, dad, nephew and some friends are there to add support.
Phil couldn't stop thanking me, we have an advertising budget of ZERO so this was a great chance to get on TV, we will do it again in October before our walk in November. http://www.azcentral.com/video/#/New...1/831148671001 is the link. |
Hey Earl (guffaw, guffaw). Have to say it along with Kudos, awe at you, and more, but I got to say it and I've never even seen you, if a camera adds 10 pounds, how many cameras were on you?
OK, got that out of the way, WOW, what you did for the cause. Thank you Earl! |
What I should've done
Mark Curtis (the anchor) gave me an ideal opportunity to really say something fun. He asked how I was doing..... what I should have said was "WINNING!!!!! with tiger blood!!!" but I didn't think about that until after. (probably a good thing) but my friends would have cracked up. I hope it gets our word out. in AZ the bike ride is the biggest fund-raiser. we really need the money as AZ is (I heard) in last place for fund-raising. Our bike ride is next weekend and walk is in November. I am making it a point this year to not only raise money, but to really get our events advertised.

You looked great, Earl. Nobody likes to look at themselves on camera. But you did great and I'm sure the MS society got some much needed publicity.

The hat is my favorite. I have two of them from this company. They keep me cool, they are made in the USA and lifetime guarantee, two things that will sell me anytime. The guy who sells them / owns the company says "if your head doesn't wear out before the hat does, he will replace it. They are crushable and great for the pool. AzShadyhats.com |
